When I was watching the game

And then Darkwa ran that touchdown in.. I was like holy crap San Diego is worse than the Giants.. Dare I say I thought we would win easily.. be 1 & 4.. get a little mojo going.. then go to 2 & 4.. possibly a small run going.. maybe evening up at 4 & 4...

Then reality set in.. and our football reality came crashing back down...

The second half I just sat there and stared at the screen.. quiet.. my wife checked on my multiple times.. she thought there was something wrong with me.. no screaming at the tv, no cursing..

I think the medical term is shock.. like you go into shock when something horrible happens to you..

I saw the end of my football rooting season end before Columbus day.. I had no words to describe it.

I think its time to clean house completely.. I want to be excited about football again.. Watching these Giants is like asking random strangers to take turns kicking you in the nuts..

Happy to hear about Flowers...

If this kid can overcome and hold on to his job going forward, that would be a huge building block.

Would be better late than never.
Flowers is

NOT, Should NOT and Should have NEVER been the Giants LT. He is not good enough and his play better as it is, is still nowhere near what you need a LT to be!
thank you Sy, must be hard doing these with all the poor

Enough about Ereck Flowers - ( New Window )
Hart is worse than Flowers
jeff57 : 10/11/2017 4:59 pm : link
Just think. Flowers could be starting at RT and Okung at LT. If we didn't have a stubborn fool as GM.
Sy, how can you blame Hart for
section125 : 10/11/2017 5:21 pm : link
two incompetent plays by Eli? Bosa got one sack because Eli left the pocket and stopped just past the pocket where not even God would have expected him to stop, he basically walked into the sack (as you said)and on the 2nd one Eli had the ball at his hip and Bosa reached out and tipped it while fully blocked (as you said). No good QB holds the ball that low..

Run blocking - Hart and which ever RG was in(mostly Fluker) kicked the Chargers ass. Holes were huge on that side and either Eli or McPutz decided to run left and Flowers and Pugh were awful for the most part on running plays.
Great write up Sy'56 Game was a cold slap in the face ..
Bluesbreaker : 10/11/2017 6:55 pm : link
First off I was hoping that they would just keep Pugh over
at RT and leave Hart on the bench . He is not starter material especially at RT he is better suited to play guard It was nice to see Flowers play better we need him to pan out somewhere . It did not seem like we missed Richberg at all.
After a slow start Eli played very good I am not gonna blow him out of the water for the late fumble . He IMO still has two good seasons left in him after this year and that should give time for Webb to develop .
Both Gallman and Darkwa ran hard it was great to see them
show some power and Gallman some elusiveness . But I still feel we need an upgrade at RB . The mis-use or at times lack of use of the TE's drives me crazy . I like Adams a lot now hopefully he will get some much needed playing time and throws his way .
Apple isn't trust worthy you never know WTF he is gonna due he is a walking penalty flag and It irritated me to see him chuckling on the side line . Hats off to Thompson for finally putting a game together . Now with this latest bad news with DRC it's starting to look like a mutiny with some of the comments and attitudes Jack Rabbit walking off OBJ about the opposition ect . I like Goodson ho did get beat in coverage but Gordon is a tough matchup for any LB
Sunday night might get real ugly MacHandley looks to lost at this point and his comments about Eli are BS .
Leaving Rojas on the bench when were struggling to score doesn't help .
I really feel and hope that there is a clean sweep front office and the coaching staff .
Crazy as it sounds I would be open to trading OBJ providing
he comes back strong as I feel he will if we got a high #1
#2 and maybe a serviceable starter . Say we finish top 5
I would love to take the Penn St running back the best OT
and go from there likely a DE or LB with speed . We could
make a pretty good turn around for next season and beyound

I guess my question to you is would you take a QB or maybe the best RB I have seen in a long time ?

We're going to have to break out the champagne for Sy when the Giants finally win a game!

Not sure how to take that...as he echoed what I wrote in my review

Yes, that's why I posted it... they were supporting what you said.
I really wish they would stick with one primary running back
SHO'NUFF : 10/12/2017 7:11 am : link
It doesn't make sense to switch someone out, especially after a good series.

I am sure they would if they had one but they don't. They have a group of committee backs. Besides, that is the trend in the modern NFL.
I find it interesting Sy's comment about Brett
That’s Gold, Jerry : 10/12/2017 8:56 am : link
Jones reminding him of Rick Seubert. I have made that comment numerous times over the past two years.

He has that grittiness that Richie had and he will give you everything he has got. To me, unless Richburg vastly improves his play, Jones may be our future center.

As for Fluker, how is it that both he and Jerry don't seem to have a clue how to pick up a stunt? I mean, do these guys watch film...do they actually self-examine and work on their weaknesses. My God, it is, Sy said, shocking the one of them was a first round pick from a top school and yet he cannot execute such a basic fundamental.

Only conclusion I can make is both of these guys are absolute dolts...haven't got a brain in their head.
Not sure what's the point of telling Odell to shut his mouth.

Anyhoo... who was Darian Thompson covering on the Hunter Henry TD that was blamed on LC? He seemed to step up on 2 players who were well-covered and the ball went right over his head. That seems to be a type of play opponents are running with lots of success against the Giants defense... run guys deep from the opposite side of the field to get behind corners and safeties. I recall the Eagles doing it late last season.

In addition to JPP's poor overall game, his offside penalty might've been the biggest play on SD's first half TD drive. It changed a 3rd & 15 to a 2nd & 10.
Shock
Jerry K : 10/12/2017 1:10 pm : link
Yeah... I thought Thompson failed to drop back and cover Henry as he entered the deep zone. It didn't look to me that Collins was the culprit on that TD.
