and unlike Judge he did it without the umps fucking half his AB's...
Greg I hear ya on '98. Game 6 was the first playoff game I ever got to go to. It was a party pounding the crap out of them and getting revenge (got to go to game 1 of the WS too) what a great year...back then the Yanks didn't fill the stadium every game and they came up with this promotion mid season that if you bought tickets to like 10 games at once for the rest of the year you could buy playoff tickets to 1 game per series. I had this great friend who organized like 10 of us and we went to ton of games that historic season then the playoffs...ahh good times! got married that year too
We had tickets to game 3 and after reviewgate was praying that we weren't going to see a sweep. Instead, got an instant classic from Tanaka and they pulled the series out.

Before tonight, the last time the Indians lost three games in a row:
July 30-Aug. 1.
Brett Gardner was 0-for-8 in the first 2 games of this series, but 6-for-13 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored in the last 3. Didi Gregorius was 0-for-9 in the first 2 games of the series, but 4-for-8 in the last 3, including 2 HR in Game 5. Gregorius homered twice on inside pitches.

Thats your series right there. Gardy and Didi did nothing the first 2 games and came on strong at the end, whereas Lindor and Ramirez shit the bed for virtually the whole series. Also after a monster 2 games, Bruce disappeared the last 3.
ARod is fantastic, always liked Keith Hernandez, and it's even making me sort of like Ortiz. He's legitimately funny and the banter with ARod is great.
So fired up by this win so I can't sleep, so I'm enjoying this production

his postgame comments. He dismissed a question about 7 Indians errors and said we didnt beat ourselves, we got beat.
Even a dejected Kluber gave Didi and the Yanks a lot of respect in the locker room after the game.
Francona was customarily classy after the game too.
Fans are fans, not going to spend time worrying about what Cleveland fans are saying, NY fans have been similarly absurd after bad losses in different sports over the years
But you learn a lot about players and managers with how they handle losing a series like that

You must be on a post-win high
Nah, I legitimately think it's pretty good. I've seen a similar sentiment out there. ARod gets really good reviews

Don't even have to go back years. Just go back and view Friday's Yanks thread...

I agree too. My wife kids and I got a big kick out of the ARod-Big Sloppy banter throughout the series. They mix up the yucks with some pretty good baseball analysis. Sloppy doesn't add much, he could go but I love having him there right now for ARod to beat on...The YES guys are good analysts int he post game, but who can listen to them for 30 minutes straight? you fall asleep.

Yup for sure
One thing about the game 2 aftermath - you can tell Girardi earned a lot of respect from the players with the way he handled it afterwards

Yeah, I kind of liked Papi. I think he had just a tad trouble with his English getting out exactly what he was trying to say. I don't mean this to put him down. It is his 1st talking head gig and to be quick and succinct in your 2nd language is tough - I thought he and ARod were fun. Papi knows his shit.
Big Hurt is a good guy, but very quiet. Hernandez knows his stuff but ARod and Papi were just playing off each other. 5 guys in the booth is too much.
yeah that's what I mean. It's got a bit of a TNT "Inside the NBA" vibe with Barkley and that group.
The analysis is pretty good but you also get that with YES. But the banter is actually pretty funny. YES gets a bit dry and self serious. And I haven't minded Ortiz like I thought I would. Him saying "that's baseball, Suzyn" last night had me laughing.
I think they played the radio call of the final out, and they asked Ortiz for his best Sterling impression. So he did the "theeeee Yankees win" and then just as they were getting ready to move on he goes "that's baseball, suzyn".
ARod and Burkhardt the host lost it laughing. In his broken english too it was great, legitimately funny
Did you see where Cory Kluber's wiki got edited? LMAO

It's Oct. 11, folks. Amazing.
sorry buddy did not realize you linked it...My bad
2009 was very different. Expectations were so sky-high that winning was more relief than joy. This is pure joy.

Exactly what I'm saying... What a better feeling this is! Love it!!!!

Well said, totally agree. Will always love and appreciate the 2009 team. But this is so much different and arguably more fun in a way
