The Secondary.....

Reb8thVA : 10/11/2017 8:05 pm
Maybe I missed something but does anyone else find it interesting that most of the griping, at least the stuff that has become public, is coming from the secondary, whether it's Apple complaining about the culture, Jenkins walking off the field on Sunday, DRC pitching a fit etc.. The secondary was supposed to be one of the strengths of the team. Something sure smells rotten

Spags is lucky McAdoo is getting all of the heat.
Well did Jenkins actual walk,

or was it just DRC? That seems to be the reason McAdoo is making DRC inactive this Sunday but nothing on JackRabbit.

They know our plays. Throwing HC under the bus publicly last week.

OBJ wasnt throwing him under the bus per se.
WE know the plays coming w/o playbooks.
Just letting people know how obvious our predictability is...which is NOT news.
We know what Vereen on the field means;
We know what Ellison on the left means;
And the shotgun draw, or the slant are coming.
etc.

He never had nonsensical behavior? Do you remember the clothes that Space Ghost would wear on the team bus? LOL

bunch of guys pointing fingers; like the secondary made at the DL for letting WRs have time to complete routes+, mad at the scheme, mad at the LBs for not being able to cover TEs and the middle being open on 3rd down, and the blitzs not working.
And who ISNT mad at the O?

Well, McAdoo got alk the credit last year when it was the D that got us to 11-5. So, to me, he needs to take this blame regardless of the coordinator. If he separates himself from the D then what good is he to this team with specials and the O underperforming for more than a year. Well, maybe the specials performed well last year but I don't remember. I do know that every aspect of this team is horrible.

the opponent to just lay down in fear. That's why you see "hitting" instead of tackling.

I told you Spags sucked years ago.

Maybe the secondary is bitching out loud...
M.S. : 10/12/2017 9:32 am : link

...because the Giants pass rush sucks, and that has undermined whatever coverage the DBs provided.
When the bitching does not stay in the lockeroom there are problems

When the diva wide receiver has shown no respect for the organization and you are losing games today’s players are going to start chirping. The organization has created a double standard for one player who is now laying on his back in a hospital bed with his foot in the air. One player is never bigger than the team.

That's a very good point.
the giants have very good pass rushers
hitdog42 : 10/12/2017 10:30 am : link
and we have them spy QBs, play the run... and drop bromley in coverage. That is a coach wanting to out scheme instead of letting defenders play fast and use their talents.
its disturbing... and we see the same thing on offense at times as well. Instead of Engram being a threat down the seam... hes doing a 5 yard hitch into crowded space... great idea.

Carl Banks said something similar on the radio earlier this week. He said for some reason it doesn't appear the defensive scheme is lining up with the type of players the Giants have - and he doesn't know why its changed so much from last year

When they rush 4, no one gets to the QB. Unless the DC calls a blitz, they hardly get any pass rush at all. The best criticism of the DC would be how people consistently get open when we drop 8 into coverage. Watching the Pats drop 8 into coverage, it seems like they have 15 men on the field. Nothing is open and the pass must be thrown short and people run in and gang tackle.
The vaunted front seven is doing almost nothing this season
JonC : 10/12/2017 1:52 pm : link
which puts tremendous pressure on the secondary, and they're cracking mentally after a few poor performances.
To be fair, we haven't had a front 7 in about 15 years

Since 2004 it's been Front 4, back 4, and then whatever warm bodies we can fill the middle of the field with

Can anyone answer this question? Were the reports of Jack Rabbit walking off just the name getting mixed up with DRC?

Spags sure as hell took a bunch of the credit. The offense has gotten better in the last 3 games (Minus the loss of all our WRs), but the defense has regressed further.
