This team is so fun to watch. The defense has to play better but Schneider has been exceptional so far with 46 saves last night. Will Butcher is the real deal. He is much better in his own zone than I had anticipated. Bratt with another assist and he is looking like he will be on the roster longer than 9 games. Zacha has shown that he might break out this season.

Yep Jay I think we're going to have to get used to giving up some goals with a young D corp and the pace we are playing. I'll take it, Schneider can handle it. Yea I think this will be a real break-out year for Zacha. I heard an interview with Shero where he said the 9 game thing with Bratt was no big deal and he doesn't mind burning a year on the entry deal at all.

if they sent Bratt back to London? I agree with you on the defense I know this season is going to be a tough year for Schneider but so far he is up to the task. This offseason they have to add a 1st or second pairing defenseman to replace Moore. I could see the Devils adding someone like Calvin De Haan.

He looks so different out there so far. He appears more confident and he is using his size to his advantage on a more consistent basis.

They are definitely fun to watch. They look to have a lot of speed and athleticism out there on the ice.

I'm excited to watch the development of these young guys.

The PP goal by Zacha was insane. Literally they moved the puck so fast you couldn't see it. The goalie Andersen didn't move till the puck was bouncing off the netting

As he matures he is going to be a monster in front of the net.

As was the play by Bratt to keep the puck in the zone.

Great sequence.

It was a 2 on 1 and his one timer went wide.

when McLeod is healthy. He will be given the 9 game tryout to prove that he is ready for the NHL. He is arguably the Devils fastest prospect after Hischier and his speed would be another boost as he can also play RW. A 3rd line of Bratt Henrique and McLeod would be fun to watch and it would send Hayes to the 4th line where he is a better fit.

this is just the style of team he wanted to build- deep skilled fast fwds. I really think that Wood is kind of a forgotten piece at times when we talk about Nico/Zacha/Mcleod, now Bratt etc...He got scratched opening day and has come out breathing fire the past couple of games. He has all the tools- size speed and passion. He needs to be a better finisher, but that can come in time.

is that Hall hasn't scored yet. He has played great and he has been very unlucky but he looks destined for a big season if he stays healthy. All the talk centers around Bratt but Hall has been the best player so far this season even though the stats say differently. I really hope that they can extend him because I get the feeling that he is going to bolt in FA.

16 goals in 3 games and Hall hasn't scored 1! As for his contract he's signed for this season and 2 more so I'm not worried. UFA is an eternity away for him. I think also this is why what Shero has done here is so important. The style of play they have now is going to be a hell of a lot more attractive to the players around the league, especially once we start winning consistently.

Wood is oddly disliked by many Devils fans mostly because he takes some stupid penalties. I am a fan of his and I think that he will be a fixture on the 4th line. It will be interesting to see what happens in free agency with this team. They should hopefully be able to attract some free agents with the young talent on the roster. I would love to add Cam Atkinson if available along with Carlson or even Mike Green on a 2-3 year deal.

You're absolutely right. Hischier, Hall, Zacha, Palmieri, Severson, Butcher, Santini and Bratt already in NJ with McLeod, Bratt, Speers, Bastian, Dyblenko, and Blackwood on the way gives them the chance to compete for a long time.

yea he seemed to catch himself and said he was younger. Will be interesting to see how they do vs. Washington and the rangers. One thing I still think they can catch teams flat footed, expecting the old Devils to come in and dump and chase and fall back.

Ovechkin is off to the best start of his career with 8 goals in 4 games. The Devils depth will be key in this game. The defense needs to step up tonight and be more physical.

It looks like Kinkaid will get his first start tomorrow versus the Rangers.

Yankee playoff games! I'll watch the 1st period then record the rest and watch afterwards. Yea big test. Its good that the rangers play tonight too so they'll both be in the same boat tomorrow.

had surgery and he is out 4-6 weeks. That is very unfortunate as his speed would have been a boost to the Devils fast paced offense. It might be best to send him back to the OHL for the rest of the year to let him shake off the rust and return healthy for a big role next season.

He could be the 2nd line RW or 3rd line C next season.
