Anything they do say at this point will just piss you off more. "I support the Coach, and feel that the players on the team will weather the storm moving forward and play competitive football."
anything they say other than an announcement of a change at the head coach and/or GM level would do more harm than good.
I do think that McAdoo will be fired. This team is almost in near full-mutiny. And even though many people can look at that and point the finger at the players (and they aren't completely wrong), that doesn't happen at this level with good leadership.
We don't need to hear from Mara right now. Honestly, it won't do any good. But Mara, I think, needs to hear from his players, if he hasn't already. He needs to be asking questions from them, and not just from the guys that have been in the papers.
Mara isn't going to say anything 5 games/losses into the season. Â
You fired Coach Coughlin which may or may not have been justified--although Tom Coughlin seems to have improved the Jaguars team and organization in very obvious ways. You left Jerry Reese in place two years ago and the organization and team have suffered palpably and perhaps the ill effects will be felt for years to come. Corrective steps starting with the replacement of Reese and his scouting group and probably McAdoo (up to the new GM) need to occur soon. The Giants need to instill the drive for excellence in everyone who is part of the organization. Look at New England, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Denver, Kansas City and other teams which are consistently contenders, study those organizations (starting with the good drafting and personnel evaluations, and terrific coaching staffs) and copy what those teams do. Mediocrity (and worse than that, a crippled team) should never be tolerated!
about public perception and not being humiliated. While a blowout loss might do it, I think more the idea that the franchise is a laughing stock...say if we go 0-7 by the bye week...that might do it.
If that is the case and nothing is done then it would appear the current regime will stay in place.
those two are the authors of this mess. They could choose to model themselves after Kraft or the Packer Board of Directors. They chose Laurel and Hardy.

Reese and BM owe their careers to the Maras. Both are going to allow the Maras whatever influence they want—they are here to take their orders from above. GYs one condition to become GM was that Wellington not interfere because that is what he had done with every other GM and coach. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with John Mara
The Giants will fire Reese, pick a new GM that will accept the idea to keep the HC for 1 year and let that contract play out. Then if this turns around in 18 Ben stays, if not, the new GM can get his guy. Maybe his guy comes in under some title but is heir to the HC job in a yr or 2.
Since a turnaround won't likely happen, or happen well enough happen, odds are 2-1 Ben only survives an extension year at best.
Something like that. Will that help? I bet not.

Or time for some ticket burning, and maybe a plane with a banner over the stadium. I'll chip in.
