"According to a police source, Kouandjio was found, not fully clothed, in a field after climbing over an electric fence," Carucci wrote. "When an Erie County Sheriff's deputy went to detain him, the source said, the 6-foot-7, 322-pound Kouandjio yelled, 'Shoot me!'"
Reese is such a freaking joke.

All I see is that a man 6'7" and 322 pounds climbed over an electrical fence. Not too shabby. Haha.

Erie County Sheriff's Office: Cyrus Kouandjio did not say "shoot me" to any of their deputies and he was "compliant, courteous and polite."

this just reinforces what many have said about the organizational incompetence. Shit we wait until the whole fucking season is destroyed before looking at solutions? I may have to take back some of the things I said about TC over the years. Maybe this is what he was dealing with.
This just screams of desperation

time admitting mistakes. Not sure what the reasoning is but we fail often to address trouble areas of the team until its too late. Every one knew coming into this season our offensive line was ahuge issue but our GM apparently. Also we hang onto players way too long. I think 80 percent of the players that were on our roster last year that left and joined other teams didn't even make it out of their camps this summer. And that may be low.
the team is now working

He's a joke for bringing in a former 2nd round pick OL for a workout? Maybe he's not the joke.
These are short term injury replacements

The Replacements is a great movie
Cyrus Kouandjio is awful.
Red Dog : 10/13/2017 7:09 pm : link
He didn't look like a worthwhile prospect coming out, but Buffalo wasted a high draft pick on him anyway. Took them a couple of years to figure out that he can't play NFL caliber football.

So let me paraphrase - Jerry sucks because he doesn't do anything to improve the offensive line. But when he does bring in people (because offensive linemen grow on trees) he sucks because the people he brings in are unemployed and therefore are not good."

Folks if these people were outstanding, they would be on somebody's roster. But there is no harm bringing them in for a look see.

If he brought these people in in March or April you would still be whining.

That thing the Giants won't win this year because -- among other reasons -- their OL sucks.

It's not like he signed the guy to a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract. He kicked the tires. There is literally no downside to that. But I guess some people need to advance their agenda no matter what.

No, he sucks because he put all his eggs in John Jerry's basket and didn't do his due diligence to improve the OL.

Look, he screwed up - there's no denying that. And he's probably going to lose his job at the end of the season - no defending against that, either. But should he just stop trying to fix the problems with the team and/or trying to keep Eli upright and healthy?

Some of you just live to complain.
These tryouts aren't to replace any starters

so it's a non-issue.

He'll fit right in on this line then.
No Jerry sucks because this team has no depth
Bluesbreaker : 10/13/2017 11:31 pm : link
The offensive line has been a work in progress for six
seasons and there have been plenty enough players available
to up grade them . Then he hangs on to them waiting for
some miracle to happen like the JPP of TE's the bust's in the trenches are whats killed this team and then when he hit's on a DT he lets them walk .
Don't give me OBJ the Mannings new all about this kid early on . Still plenty of games left to see if Flowers can nail the LT job down and Apple can actually play like a 1st rounder .
The problem I have
Gregorio : 10/14/2017 12:36 am : link
with bringing a group of OLine in now, is I lost confidence in the Giant's ability to evaluate OLine talent.

I wish for a real hard look at the scouting organization. Re-evaluate the priority put on the skill positions, versus the O and D line positions.

They didn't have much choice but to prioritize skill positions. Here are the 2015 skill position players:

1. Jennings- out of the league
2. Donnell- out of the league
3. Tye- Pats practice squad
4. Randle- out of the league
5. Parker -out of the league
6. Cunningham-out of the league
7. Nicks- out of the league
8. White-out of the league
9. Williams- out of the league
10. Harris- caught 36 passes. Has caught 1 pass in two years
11. Vereen- still with team
12. Beckham- still with team
13. Darkwa- still with team

That was the assemblage of "talent" Jerry produced, and yet, people still defend him here. So, yes, they had to focus on skill position players.

HomerJones, are you saying that the talent at skill positions was so bad 2015, they were forced to make that a higher priority?

I'm not so sure they didn't have a choice on what to prioritize. You always have a choice. It might mean you have to pick the lesser of two evils.

Record, they do this every year every tuesday. Hart has been nicked and Richburg is out, so they are looking for depth. Look we suck eggs, but this isn't worth getting annoyed at and I love to be annoyed

I think the biggest issue with all of this is that they didn't seem to have a strategy, and I still don't think they do.

That's what happens when the VP Player Evaluation is watching horse races during the NFL draft... do you remember the last time a key member of Belichick's staff left the draft war room to watch his horses race?

There are key members of Belichick's staff that aren't Belichick?

Please stop using him as the point of comparison - he's a unique outlier. And really not particularly great at drafting, if we're being honest.

Giants work out OL
johnboyw : 10/15/2017 7:30 am : link
This proves, once again, that Jerry Reese has no clue what he's doing. These are all scrap heap players. He thinks you can just plug in any 320 pounder and somehow it will work.
As I've said before, Reese was a very good scout but that does not make you a GM. The fact that he doesn't even realize you build a team from the inside out is proof of that. And the fact that he can't own up to his mistake with Flowers is a big part of the problem. Here's hoping Mara will do the right thing once this disaster of a season is over.
