Let’s fucking go! What are we drinking tonight? I’m all in on Saranac Oktoberfest, starting now. And Stone IPA if I run out. It could be ugly by first pitch.
but their pitching is not on the same level as ours or Cleveland. It will come down to how well our starters can fair and if our kids can wake up those bats.
I mean anyone who gets to see that woman close up naked on a nightly basis and can still concrntrate on pitching really has performed a herculean effort...
Danny Kannell...I got a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter waiting for me in the fridge.
Good luck to you guys. I'm not a fan, but would like you guys to have something to enjoy this fall. Also, my brother in law is a big Cubs fan and a Yanks Cubs World Series would be awesome. Good luck gents!

With a nice plate of wings, looking forward to this one. Astros are a tough draw...but fuck em, we weren’t supposed to stand a chance against Cleveland...let’s keep this awesome run rolling boys!
--Houston has a better offense almost all the way down the order. You could pitch to the bottom of Cleveland's order. Houston has guys like McCann, Beltran, Gurriel, even Marwin Gonzalez sitting down there.
--Houston has a much worse bullpen. During the regular season series, the Yankees battered the Houston bullpen and IMO it is the weakest unit either team has in the series.
--Houston's starting pitching is underrated. Keuchel is a Yankee-killer and Verlander adds depth. The key to winning this series aside from getting into their pen is hammering every starter not named Keuchel.
There will be lots of runs scored this series. Both teams have one ace (Sevy/Keuchel), one old warhorse reliving past glories (CC/Verlander), and dodgy pitching otherwise. Tanaka is still hit or miss despite 2 great starts recently, you don't know what you're getting out of Gray, and Houston doesn't know what it's getting out of anyone outside of their top 2 starters. In fact, Tanaka might be the key to the whole series because a strong Tanaka makes the Yankee starting pitching better than Houston's
There really is no point in any of these games where you can say the game is over due to the offensive firepower. Therefore, stealing bases up several runs or going to interesting bullpen matchups way ahead in the game/way behind shouldn't be given short shrift. For example, the Yanks being up 10-5 normally is a safe lead, but not against Houston. You want to make it 14 or 15-5
RE: This is a very different series from Cleveland Â

The Yankees have hit Verlander recently - last couple years. He was an ace, no he is a 3 maybe a 2.
Keuchel is a PIA - he throws junk and junk is what kills the Yanks.
As far as the Astros being a better offense then the Indians is marginal. McCann/really? he is shadow of himself. Beltran is on the downhill side of a great career but can run into a pitch. The top of their order is dynamite and consistent which does make them better than the Yanks.
Just pray Judge, Sanchez and Castro start to hit. If they hit close to normal, they are as dangerous as the Astros and I think the Yankees starting pitching 1 thru 4 is better than the Astros 1 thru 4.
have scored the most runs since the 2009 Yankees. They have a team wRC+ of 121. For those unfamiliar, wRC+, or weighted runs created plus is a more accurate version of what OPS+ tries to measure.
How good is that? Since 1900, the only teams with a better wRC+ than that were the Yankees in 1927 (126), 1930 (124) and 1931 (124).
But they really need to be more patient at the plate. Keuchel isn't throwing a ton of strikes. Make him get the ball up and don't chase pitches out of the zone, damn it.

He's throwing first pitch strikes. That makes t nearly impossible to sit for your desired pitch
has to change with the strike zone Judge gets. The umpire took the bat right out of his hands, the 3-2 pitch was low too but he had no choice but to swing with the zone he gets
Yeah, get your shit together - splitter....
adamg - a good thread starter and effective if somewhat impatient...

the pronunciation of the Astros starting pitcher's last name troubles me.
This.
All the Verlander hate baffles me. Leave him and his lady alone.
Speaking of which:
Ummm we just knocked off Cleveland. We're not facing murderer's row. We can win this.
We have a good shot in this series.
Speaking of a good shot:

I'm praying that that myself.
