Not the strike zone.
Yes it’s infuristing but it’s not causing hitters to swing at pitches that start below their knees..... that is called stubbornly looking/hopingmfor fast balls that don’t arrive

Yes it is...because when strikes are called at the shins, the hitters have to assume 2 strike pitches aren't going to be in the dirt
He got a few tonight but that wasnt the problem. Our approach was for shit tonight especially the last few innjngs. Swung at such garbage. Bird, Gardy and Sanchez got themselves out 7 times tonight. Well never hit him unless we change our approach.
I don't blame begrudge the zone but it has to go both ways. Altuve should be ring up if Green rolls it on the ground. That's about the season 8 inches the Stros are getting below Judge's knees.

. They are flailing... which means they are looking for a fast ball with 2 strikes? It’s not coming- sit on the junk. React to the fastball. If you sit on junk then even the ball that is low they can still time
I’m not all that impressed with Houston. The Yankees were still hungover. If Verlander doesn’t pitch well, the Yankees are going to push their shit in and go back 1-1
Positive takeaways:
- Tanaka looked really good even with his splitter not perfect
- Judge looking a little better
- Bird HR
- Chad Green back on track

And when they face Keuchel again, I have a feeling it will be a bit different. More patient, geting him out earlier. Let's hope we get ALDS Sevy tomorrow, not WIld Card Sevy.
Keuchel got the benefit of many balls called strikes. I think it is funny Smoltz was flat out saying Judge is getting screwed and needs to speak up.
The Astros hit with RISP in one inning and the Yankees did not as per the usual M.O.. But they were getting to Keuchel and he threw 105 pitches. They got to Devenski and hit the HR off Giles.
If there's such a thing as a good loss, that was it. Â
Robbie and Chappy are well-rested now, Judge looked better - we can play with these guys. Altuve and Correa are beasts, but the rest can be pitched to. Hopefully we can take tomorrow's game and really put the heat on them. Houston knows they have a tough battle ahead.
Ellsbury and Headley are shitty veterans that Girardi Â
goes to repeatedly for no good reason. Those two haven’t come close to doing anything, they should be glued to the bench no matter what the binder says.
Didn't give us much of a shot today so encouraged by that. I think we are going to rock tomorrow. Kegal was tough but let's get a good night rest and tee off on that douche Verlander and his fat titty girl.

I agree. I didn't think the Yankees would win this one. Coming off an emotional win in Cleveland, probably celebrating a bunch. A reset on the road against a pitcher who kills them, I'm not surprised they were shut out most of the game. But Judge looks like he's starting to figure it out more. The bats will come around against Verlander. And Houston's pen scares no one. They won't have their closer tomorrow and if he tries to come in, he won't be sharp. In my mind, if Sevy pitches well and Verlander doesn't go 7 innings, the Yankees are going to bomb them tomorrow. There is no one in that Houston pen who will keep the Yankees down. Just come back to Bronx tied at 1-1 and the Yankees will pour it on them at home.
But if there's another low strike called on Judge, Girardi HAS to pitch a fit.

If that umpire really thinks that first pitch is a strike, he needs to find a new profession
Fucking BAH
At the least, hopefully that gets Bird locked in for the rest of the series
This game is fucking boring.
Yay for bird. If he knew how to run the fucking bases like a little leaguer does, this would be tied.

Go fuck yourself. Idiot.
Yanks need to be better if they want to win this
All right Yankees. Get em tomorrow.

He should have done it months ago. It's just inane at this point.
Judge turned on a 99mph pitch way inside - he's a beast. He isn't able to golf and play baseball at the same time however.
