It’s funny. I said the same thing last night.
Problem is, if you then need a backup 2B or SS to come in, you lose the DH since you would have to move Toe there.
Good Lord. Torreyes is not the better defensive player. It is not even arguable. On arm alone he his far inferior. He doesn't have the range, either. You are comparing a 3 x NL all-star SS vs a barely made the team backup utility player. Does Castro make the occasional head scratcher? Yes he does, unquestionably.
Is Torreyes a VG utility player, yes he is. Is he a starter or an Altuve? No, not close.
After 108 years of misery, they probably deserve some luck & breaks.

They may as well put him at 2nd and have Castro DH. Torreyes is the better defensive player

What the flying fuck are you talking about? Who said he's Altuve? Or even a starter? All I said is that if he's going to play, you may as well put him at 2nd and let Satro DH. So calm down. Torreyes is also absolutely a better DEFENDER than Castro. Castro isn't a butcher by any means, but he has some brain farts that will drive you crazy. Torreyes will make all the plays. Take a deep breathe. The games about to start
Yeah me too. Good for some laughs

Take a chill pill. You need to take a breath. Torreyes is not a better defender than Castro. He is not. Because Castro makes an occasional, brain fart error, does not make Torreyes a better defensive player. Torreyes has neither the range nor arm of Castro.
I won't disagree that playing Torreyes as either DH or 2B (Castro as DH) is a bad idea, in fact it might be a good idea as Ells, Headley and Holliday provide nothing. At least Torreyes gets bat to ball. But if Torreyes was better at 2B, he'd be starting and it isn't even close.
I'm not sure why you keep putting words into my mouth, but I'm moving on now.
Love Arod but that lisp doesn't grow on me.
Let's do this
It's not just him. The entire team is up their hacking at shit out of the zone. The problem is made worse with a liberal strike zone but they need to adjust.
I don't like the fucking handshakes and chest bumping this team does... clowns
Nice timing
Most valuable peanut goes to Altuve for sure.
Altuve will win I think, but without Altuve, Houston still wins the west by 15 games. Without Judge, the Yankees are fishing and golfing right now.
Depends on the definition of Most Valuable Player I guess.
Then his hands are in the middle of the plate when he swings. Judge needs to flat out leave the sliders alone or on two strikes go to right...
Yup...Yanks have been getting maybe 1 or 2 good hittable pitches per AB last night and so far today, and they’re not doing damage on them
I meant NOT a strike
I mean to make a point not as a long-term approach. It's going to take something to get the point across. It's laughable the size of his zone right now.
Hopefully that rattled Verlander a little bit
Whatever. Judge would've just struck out anyways.
Yup, heck of a play. So far, this Astros team has been sharp all around

that relay. Perfect throw while off-balance.
This is a pretty stupid post man...yes it was dumb to try for third, but it still took a great relay throw to get him. If you’re a baseball fan, you can appreciate good baseball while still discussing wise and dumb decisions on the field
Will not be surprised by a HR by Judge or Sanchez right here.
RP you're smarter than that. 3-2 2 outs you send Bird 100 times out of 100 there. Gonzalez made the best throw of his life.
Because he knew only an idiot would try for 3rd with two outs, judge up, and Red-dick on the ball.
I can taste hits coming this inning. Zoolander isn't fooling anyone with his heater
It puts you in such a hole.. if I'm Astros I keep hitting that same spot.. do they adjust the strike box foe the batters size?
It's just pure ass. It ruins the game. What will it take for these fucking dumps to call it above the knee?
They give free strikes. You don't ever see a strike called a ball.
They let catchers spoon pitchers every second pitch to ensure they don't miss any tactical opportunity. Are hitting coaches walking up to hitters between pitches?
As a baseball fan I'm fucking pissed about the failure to let the game play itself out. This is just not fun to watch.
Meant to say they are making the plays we are not.
They have gotten every break this series so far.. just the way it goes sometimes..we need some of that Yankees magic...
It was a bad pitch. Left it up on 0-2 after breaking Correa's bat.
Quote:
damnit!!!!!!!! the are the plays we are not. Headley hit a ball in the same spot it was an out. Not quite sure what Judge was doing there.

Nope today it's not about breaks...is about making plays and not making them.
The kid reached into field of play. Judge needed to smack into the kid to seal it I guess.
Of course nobody is saying we've lost at 1-0
Because the ball was over the wall and his glove was behind it.
Replay clearly shows he was not over the wall. Very good replays or Correa is out and the kid is gone.

And that's a fair point.
Headley's wasn't going over the wall.
Judge had more distance to cover and in a shorter time. Comparing them is foolish.
Quote:
why isn't the kid being escorted out? He interfered with a ball in play.

Nope. It's the fucking zone that sets the tone. We have one run today on a homer out of the zone. No one can hit down in the count every fucking Ab
Frazier clutch again
Yankees holding tough tho
Sevy has another 2 strong in him
I pick us.
Nope
No and Chase Headley is Hitless in his postseason career.
I'd DH Toe tbh
I pick us.
Yup, that run was huge
only see it on TV

How is that not distracting?

Holy shit.. my 5 year old might be faster than him..
Holy shit.. my 5 year old might be faster than him..
Does he known how to hit? We don't need pitching at the moment. We need hitters that know how to lay off non-strikes
Yup, Didi too. Almost like they’re sitting on a curve, and can’t adjust to catch up to the fastball. Which would be an odd approach against Verlander
But, the pitches they are striking out on are ridiculous. They are not even remotely close.
And Castro, and Ellsbury, and Didi
And how did the Astros go from big SO team for years to suddenly one that leads the league in making contact? How can we get some of that?
Oh and fuck the umps
Yup 2 weeks ago he hits that 450 feet to center
pretty easy to do when every batter thinks they are playing in a home run derby
That's the computer's ball to strike ratio when I play MLB The Show and I swing at almost everything. Yep, that sounds like the Yankees offense right now.
If they do, Verlander will be bummed.
Two 2-1 games. Fucking brutal.
Wow ....
Still should have had it.
Still no idea how thats not interference, Didi got nothing on the throw as a result
Just brutal.
Yes - the ball was there in plenty of time.
Still should have had it.

Did it short hop? I thought it hit Sanchez's glove on a fly
He threw WAY more pitches out of the zone than that. I think I might scream if these guys continue to look at strikes, then swing at balls.
It wasn't a perfect throw. If it was, he wouldn't have dropped it.
would you guys stop with that shit already they scored 500,000 fucking runs this year and about 40 in 4 games vs. the Sox. Correia was getting meatballs today. He did what our hitters need to do, take an outside pitch the other way every 20 batters or so.

there on two guys on this entire team that can hurt you.

meant to say Correia wasn't getting meatballs
The issue is that Houston isn't making the little mistakes. The Yankees are.

Neither was Judge. Only difference, the outside balls Judge was getting were off the plate. Verlander was happy to get a K or walk, Yankees were greedy going for the K.

Houston has been dominant. The Yankees are a better, more talented team but the Astros are better versed in the fundamentals. That's the easy part and the Yankees coaching staff is lacking. Only two players went oppo all day for the Yankees.
The issue is that Houston isn't making the little mistakes. The Yankees are.
Yup, this. But Houston's starters are not going to be doing the same thing in the Bronx. Hinch has zero faith in the pen for good reason. If CC can pitch his game, the Yankees will unload on Charlie Morton and get that Astros pen lit up.
The Yankees could win the next 4, IF Houston's bats don't wake up.
Quote:
acting like Houston dominated both games. Simply not true. Up to that point in the 9th the Astros only had three hits and the Yankees were matching them on the mound.

I want to agree but I have zero faith in the Yankees offense unloading on anybody right now.

Yea Im sure Houston is shak8ng in their boots

Game 3 and Game 4 will be by far the worst pitchers the Yankees have faced in the post season, maybe since the Twins game. If the Astros fall behind early, in the Bronx, the wheels will come off for them because their pen won't keep the Yankees in check. Houston better score quick in those games because chances are very strong they will get out of hand quick.
We’re all frustrated bc we know this Yanks team has the talent and the pitching to win these games, but there’s another level they haven’t quite gotten to yet. Series is far from over, let’s see how quickly they can adapt
Gardy struck out more than anyone today.
I hope for better in NYC.

Nailed it.

Painful to watch. These are some of the ugliest swings all season. Wtf was sanxhes swinging at in that one at bat where he was falling forward trying to make contact?
Gardy struck out more than anyone today.
I'm not talking just about today. And at least he's up there for more than four pitches if he does strike out.
Holding the Astros to two two run games is pretty freakin' good in anyone's book.
Frustrating to see them swinging at all the garbage, but maybe Didi's 8th inning hit will show them what to do..
Now if that happens they need to beat Keuchel once. But you have to get there first.
Now if that happens they need to beat Keuchel once. But you have to get there first.
I'm pretty optimistic about our chances moving forward. It fucking sucks to be down 0-2 but this team just dealt with the same situation last week. We need to break the wood out in the bronx
Crunch time for the Yanks.
I hope for better in NYC.
Right now Sanchez appears to be near useless on both sides of the ball. He's meekly swinging at pitches a foot out of the strike zone, and can't hold on to a throw. Maybe give Romine a shot. At least, his head isn't all F'd up right now.
So far the difference in the series is the Astros are making all the bang-bang plays and the Yankees are not. No need to list them and there have really only been about 5.
The good news, as far as I am concerned, is that every single good thing has happened to the Astros and every single "bad" thing has happened to the Yanks, and they still only lost 2-1 in each game. While I did not think the Indians were the better team as I watched the series, I do think the Astros are better right now, especially at the plate (duh). Unless Sanchez and Judge start to hit and stop chasing sliders, they will not advance. Altuve and Correa are just better hitters. I do think that the indoor lighting may be bothering them just a touch.
Anyway, our #3 and #4 starters are better than theirs. Get home, get right, score some runs and get back to Houston 2-2.
Don’t you guys love these pussies who wait until after the game to talk trash, bc they don’t have the balls to do so before or during the game? Lulz.

How'd it work out for all you bozos who couldn't wait to light up Verlander, nice to see another two whiff game from Adam Dunn Jr, and what a real MVP like Altuve does when it matters most

That troll is just another example of why incest is NOT a good idea. Family reunions must be a real treat around the Possum "family".
Bill2 does exist????
If you have the ball you can block.
Aw hell no. The child predator is back?
