unless they fall backwards again after last night, that win last night and finally turning play calling over to sully may have saved his job..have to see though here on out how he handles things
It was a very un-McAdoo game. Giving the play calling to Sullivan. Opting for the long FG try on 4th and short twice instead of going for it. Committing to the run. Maybe his ego took the night off.
rest of the season goes. It he goes 1-15, no way he is here. But sometimes it is best to look at how he reacts to adversity. Last year did not seem to have much adversity, this year does. Remember Bill Parcells was almost fired after his first year, but he reacted well to the adversity of the first year.
every coach should be giving the chance to evolve Â
Only one win, needs to be the whole body of work after the season. Still could get fired prior to the end of the season if they don't win again going into December.
Can't evaluate his own talent. It's obvious that the o-line that started last night was much better then we've seen all year. Even Jones played much better then we have seen from Richburg. No? Also, anyone here think that Paul Perkins is better then either Darkwa or Gallman?
Agree with most of the above, it's one game out of 16. Â
However, unlike what has been spread by the beat writers, the team did seem to play very hard from the get go.
That is the first thing ownership is going to want to see EVERY game for the remainder of the season.
Now let's see if there is continued player development with the rookies, and young vets (i.e. Flowers, Apple, etc.). If that happens, then I would believe he McAdoo would be back in '18.
Also needs to continue to develop his in game adjustments.
Actually it showed how much he needs to be fired. It showed how incompetent and stubborn he really is by not making the proper changes when they needed to be done in the beginning of the season. It also shows how bad he was at play calling. Unfortunately it feels like with this Org, the Giants would seriously have to lose every game in order for him to be fired.
night. they won on turnovers and DEN being dumb enough to challenge Jenkins instead of Apple othe 3rd CB.
Line play and running was encouraging. Less pussy football and more knocking shit out of people is Giants football, not the crap that McAdoo has brought here.

So, you're wish is that the management of the Giants was as reactionary as the fans?
You want him fired because they lost the first 5 games, and are unwilling to see the rest of the story?
They won 11 games his first season...would you admit that he continues to improve (given the team's current deficiencies), that it could be a turning of the corner for him?
I have no idea if he will continue to progress, but I do want to see what happens over the course of a full season (10 more games)...especially his development of the young players.
The one thing that's his "specialty" he passed it off to Sullivan and we played our most consistent offensive game. To his defense, the team needed him.
The really difficult case is also a likely one: What if they go 9-7 and miss the playoffs?
They go 8-2 the rest of the way, that's good.
They went 0-5, that's bad.
They're only 2 games off last year's record, with a tougher schedule, that's good.
They added a bunch of weapons, were supposed to be better but weren't, that's bad.
They lost OBJ and Marshall and Dwayne Harris, but still recovered to have a winning record, that's good.
My guess is if that happens, he gets another year and this place melts down.

If he goes 9-7 I’d think we have our long term HC. That would be a helluva coaching job.
Every win or loss will bring up whether reese or mc adoo stay or go around here.
And our HC sheds some of the 'stubborn' stigma.

1. Got the team to play hard
2. Did some self evaluation by handing over play calling duties
This needs, however, to continue. Team needs to stay hungry and not pack it in.
The Giants, for whatever reason, have had a major tendency to pack it in - see Fassel and TC for reference.

+1.
But it shouldnt save JR and Co.

He's McToast.
So in answer to the question. It didn t hurt his chances of returning
