Yeah, there was one he certainly could have returned, and the one he did make a good return on was a bit risky I thought, but sometimes that's how you break'em.
a couple of years ago.
He's a sure-handed, experienced ST player, and would have been a difference maker on this team with 13 and 15 in surgery and 87 in a boot.

As you mentioned, that was 2 years ago. He sucks as a returner. He's a great gunner. And no, he's not sure handed. He has bobbled and fumbled plenty of punts.
he has been their best special teams player every year he has been here and one year filled in nicely as the slot wr...
While I think Harris gets unfairly criticized here, special teams aces, particularly gunners, are guys you should be able to draft late or pick up as UFAs. You shouldn't have to sign them to deals like the one Harris got. It wasn't huge, but certainly had an impact on the inability to add a FA OL.

If you can pin a team inside their own 5 yard line 3-4 times a game to start a series you drastically improve your probability of scoring and wining a game
Harris is prob worth at least 2-3 wins last season and about 10 in his career with the Giants.
His one return

in the second half was probably better than every Harris punt return the past 3 seasons...
You do have the ass for Harris.....you seem to have forgotten the punt and kickoff returns for TDs...last season when we continued to throw Cruz out there, with diminishing results, but we never used Harris as a receiver, even though he was targetted once, all season, for a td....
He was a below average, if not poor, punt returner.
He was a perfect returner for us in the mid to late 80's because he never fumbled, he knew when to catch and not catch and was sneaky quick who could get positive yardage though nothing major..
Harris was good in year 1 in all areas, including WR. Last year he was an absolutely terrible KR and PR and got about 10 snaps at WR all year. I don't care how good of a gunner he was, I thought he should have been cut this year.
I thought he had been ordered to fair catch everything.
Me too. In fact the punt before that he had no one around for about ten yards with blocking in front and I couldn't believe he didn't attempt a return. The last piunt was great . We need more of that. As far as McConkey comparison he has a long way to go before I would consider that comparison.
Is fast!! He looks pretty short though not Eli kind of Target. I bet you would do well on screens and reverses but downfield you have a hard time finding him
Shep's return, they're going to be playing a lot of 2 & 3 TEs , like the Giants '90, see Mrosko. But I'd like to see this guy in the slot . He's quicksilver & can change directions without stopping . Interesting player .

Well he did fumble once. Not a coincidence that that was his last game as a Giant. Parcells woke up and realized that "don't fumble" was too low a bar for a punt returner especially since they all fumble eventually. In came Meggett and he along with Reyna Thompson took our ST to the next level.
seriously. See ya Dwayne

Let's hope he keeps improving.
first job of a punt returner is to catch the ball, if you feel uncomfortable at all fair catch it

I mean holy shit , find someone else to blame
When you have a top 5 D , IMO pinning teams inside their own 5-10 yard line is more advantageous then a 20-30 yard run back.
There isn't a special teams player in the league worth 2-3 wins/year. Maybe Hester in his prime.

Now if you had said the past two seasons, ok....
From the slot ....

The rest of the current WRs are outside guys.
