and closing aggressively on the ball carrier. And I also noticed him maintaining his assignment when there was misdirection. Seemed to usually be in the right place at the right time. Reminded me of a slightly faster Chase Blackburn, though maybe without as much heft.
he's been decent against the run and tackles well, but he's not so good in coverage. We need a WLB that can cover ground and be that 3 down player. Maybe, just maybe we go get one this year. A LBer that can be a difference maker for once. It's been a long time.
I wouldn't start writing his Giants' obituary so fast if I were you.
The players voted for him not the coaches. Not writing him off either. Just acknowledging that Munson looked good in there. I'm sure Casillas is still the base WLB.
he looks to be at least a decent backup within the framework of his limitations. And he looks to me like someone who can, and will, continue to add muscle in an NFL program.
Not to belabor the comparison to Blackburn, but I consider Blackburn to have been essential to the Giants' 2011 Superbowl win. For those who watched the whole season, when Blackburn was brought back in desperation, the Giants' run D got a whole lot better. And it's not because he was super talented, but because he was the right man for the right right job. Sometimes role players can be more vital to a team's success than superstars.

I could've sworn there was a LB on the field last night making plays in the pass game. #57, Robinson.

Yeah and I notice him letting people run right by him in the first five games!

Robinson was really good last year, and he made some standout plays last night.
When he's not on the field, he is missed. Good cover linebacker. Some users here still expect linebackers to shut down tight ends, and get really angry if any catches are allowed. Unrealistic.
It would be nice if Munson showed enough where that's one less position to worry about fixing this offseason.

Munson is a nice fresh body but to easy to see reserve here than starter.
Still pining here for a first round LB draft pick but I guess next year won't be the ideal time to do that with a top 5 pick
Yeah, I thought he went out early.
Can't judge anything with 8 snaps.
