NFT: Nashville Recommendations

Bobby Humphrey's Earpad : 10/17/2017 8:02 am
Will be in Nashville for a couple of days next week on business, with only a few small pockets of time in afternoon/late evening to check out the area.

Do BBIers have any recommendations for bars (preferably craft beer) and/or restaurants? Are any of the country music museums worth a couple of hours?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

You could spend an hour or 6 hours, depending on your interests, but it’s not too big, laid out well, and has video and recordings to watch/listen too from his whole career and life

Country music HOF is great too, can’t go wrong with either

Bakersfield Tacos has good tacos and a nice draft beer selection, Merchants if you want a nice meal. Check out the Country HOF, definitely worth a visit even if you're not a country music fan.
I was not a fan...

because I don't like country music or cowboy boots and it seemed that was the purpose of 98% of the establishments I visited. Get the hot chicken though.
Was just there last month. Love Nashville!!

If you want the original Hot Chicken: get Princes not Hattie Bs.

The Pharmacy- Great Beers and Burgers. Cool german beergarden feel to the outside.

Pinewood Social for cocktails and bowling. Awesome spot.

For food in general- Acme Feed & Seed is fantastic.

One of the best rooftops was at George Jones's bar. faces the river.

Favorite bar is Tin Roof. $2 PBR specials.

Make your way to Printer's Alley. Awesome little known stretch of bars. Bourbon St. Blues bar has amazing musicians.

Highest recommendation: If you take away one thing from this post- Get breakfast/brunch at the Frothy Monkey in the 12 south neighborhood. we went everyday for 5 days straight. Couldn't get enough.

Yes, country western is the flavor down here.

If you're into Jazz, they have a new Jazz Club - Rudy's, I am going to get to in the next few weeks. Menu looked pretty good.

FYI: Nashville Jazz Workshop - some pretty righteous musicians there. Jeff Coffin is on their Advisory Board.
Prince's for Hot Chicken

but there's a wait and it's pretty basic setting.

Best chicken is at princes, the best way to avoid standing in line in the hot sun....order your food on the interweb, then just go pick it up.....there are two martins ribs, the one next to downtown is new and fantastic....great, juicy ribs....nice selection of on tap beers, great southern sides......enjoy!
Second recommendation
bc4life : 10/18/2017 6:33 am : link
for Martin's - smoked wings, very very good
Prince's is the old school place
FatMan in Charlotte : 10/18/2017 8:44 am : link
for hot chicken, but don't ignore Pepperfire or 400 Degrees.

They are both newer placed, but they are really good.

And I'm only focusing on the hot chicken because outside of that, unless you are a country music fan, Nashville kinda sucks.

If you want a good place to watch a soccer game, Fleet Street Pub is awesome to catch Premier League games.

they might be getting a soccer franchise here
Pancake Pantry is a must.

Not far from Vandy.

I loved ACME Feed & Seed. The rooftop has a great view of the Titans stadium.

Just go to Broadway. Bar after bar with music.

I love Nashville. It's right next to Austin & Charleston as one of my favorite cities in the US.
