Hayward didn't break the skin but it still maybe have been worse. Just one of the nastiest most awful injuries I've ever seen in any sport. Hard to keep watching the game. Just awful.
who's team just took the lead, and a Celtics fan, who's second best player just broke his ankle/leg, I have incredibly mixed emotions right now.
I'm just sitting here in stunned silence.
I'd like to think this is an injury you can recover from. And I think it is, cause I've seen guys come back from it before. Looks worse than it is. But this fucking sucks for him.
It wax so grotesque they wouldn't show a replay and had the camera off him, only showing player and fan reaction.
It was the lower left leg. The lower leg did a complete 180 degree turn and snapped. as it laid on the court in the opposite direction, it normally should.

Same situation here as a Yankees/Celtics fan. I'd be uber depressed if the Yankees didn't come back tonight. You just have to hope there's no muscular damage that needs surgery. If it's just a break, you would think he should be okay long term.

Celts yanks gmen fan?
Yep, we do exist. Father was from Brooklyn and a fan of those teams, so I never had a choice. Celtics weren't good for most of my youth actually. I lived through the ML Carr/Pitino years and didn't get to see the Bird years.
Tib snapped clean and the Yankees orthopedic was on call and reset it-
Cast to my hip for 8 weeks- then to my knee for 6- then walking boot/ rehab- happened in February and played sports in the fall.
I was never the same player- some of that was mental, some physical- but it wasn’t a total - you can make almost a full recovery
I have no interest in seeing this, but look at the picture Â
play by Crowder .... hate he ever wore a Cs jersey
Funny. You prolly thought he was awesome when he was being a scum bag for the Celts.
Crowder has never done anything close to this before ... so stop with the madness....He was pissed Hayward replaced him and the fans cheered him as a Jazz against the Celtics at a home game ... pure jealousy was his motivation ... as for my disappointment of him this is not the 1st time but the straw that broke the camels back ... his girlish and "Trump-ish" (that is redundant) twitter antics always rubbed me the wrong way.
Intentionally trying to alter a person's career is horseshit plain and simple
have a huge impact on their win total this season. But yeah, this will hurt big time come playoff time.
Agreed. The East is such trash that I still think they end up somewhere between 47 and 53 wins, but that Hayward will be missed big time come April & beyond.
With Hayward....Celtics would have won how many games and been how serious a contender?
Without?
Any chance he comes back this season?
Chances he is 100% again?
If the reports are true that it was a clean break and there is no ligament damage then probably. I googled it and average time to heal can really vary from 3 to 6+ months.

Moral of the story--Boston fans are racist assholes. That's why Crowder left with bad feelings.

how was your recovery? could you play senior year and does it still bother you?
Thoughts and prayers to him.

There are 3 fans saying it all with their gestures.
Man, the Bulls are a mess.
All that beard didn't soften the blow?

No such thing as a fibia. Fibula and tibia are the major bones in the lower leg.

yeah! nice job correcting me with a made up bone.
Also Dr, the tibia is considered part of the ankle.

Celtics and racism is an interesting and complicated story. Here's a 10-year old article that lays it out pretty well
