Well here it is ladies and gents. A chance at the ultimate redemption. Keuchel has absolutely owned the Yankees and it's no secret that he'll have his absolute best stuff today. Can the bats wake up? Do we need to sacrifice a live chicken? Do we need more hats for bats to make sure they're nice and warm? Anything and everything is on the table.
Gotta try to get into the Astros bullpen again - at all costs.
Tanaka-san will be on the mound for the Yanks and has been excellent this postseason. Let's go ahead and continue that, shall we? Arigato gozaimasu.
And have the Yankees bats finally woken up? We shall see said the blind man.
Win and it's back to Houston with a 3-2 lead. Believe it and it will happen.
LGY.
Let's go
Yanks have to be confident. This team has answered the bell all season - Go Yanks!
And tonight we skate with them. Because we can....oh..wait...
Be a real shame if Kuechel was taken into custody for questioning.
Anyway, let's keep this train rolling!

It's a shame that Gleyber is not in the lineup tonight. I look forward to watching him begin his Yankee career next year.
I think Tanaka-San is equal to the task today. I hope the Yanks hitters manage to stick with the approach from the 7th and 8th yesterday...lots of patience, oppo hits, and productive outs. Then we take down their bullpen again
We can do this boys, keep it rolling. Let’s go Yankees!!!!!!
44.2 IP, 166 total batters faced. And he has given up 0 HRs. .188/.218/.234 split against the Yankees in his career.
The Yanks were 8th in fly-ball percentage and 24th in ground ball percentage and Keuchel is one of the best at not giving up HRs and led the league in ground ball percentage.
So with all that against them, how can they turn things around on Keuchel? Plate discipline. Stop swinging.
Keuchel, out of 90 pitches with 140 IP was 89th/90 in percentage of strikes thrown and the Yankees were 25th in the league in swing % so they have the ability to avoid swinging.
If I"m the Yankees, I'm telling these guys the first time through the order or in the first two innings not to swing (but not look obvious) until there are two strikes or unless it's 3-0 and you see a perfect pitch.
52% of his pitches are sinkers. Odds are that if the pitch is low in the zone, it's a ball. Play those odds.

Good post. Makes perfect sense. Patience is the key.
I mentioned this during his first start - I think Keuchel fools the ump as well as the hitter sometimes with borderline pitches that break late out of the zone. Kind of an unfair added advantage, but all the arguing in the world from Girardi and company can’t cure human error completely
Just hope the Yanks go out and take the best ABs they can, and get a close game to the bullpens
Sure, he may get some questionable calls on low stuff that breaks late, but probably not any more than other pitchers.
The majority of the time he is fooling hitters into swinging at pitches out of the zone. He is 13th/90 in swinging percentage of pitches OUT of the zone.
It's not about the ump's zone with Keuchel. It's about hitters swinging at balls.
Here you go - one whole chicken, just like you asked.
Astros win, they get some mojo back and come back with Verlander in Houston in Game 6 and probably win it.
Yanks win and we will have broken their spirit. It make take until Game 7 but I like our chances of winning 1 of the remaining 2.
Big, big night.
I used to hate hearing the "Fly me to the moon..." and see him in his oversized uniform and uppercut swing. But he easily is my favorite Yankee right now along with Gardner.
Lets break their spirits tonight. And as Paul Blake said, lets take our pitches and hope for a jem from Tanaker.

Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing it. As is often the case, the damn data doesn’t always support our opinions as emotional fans:)
