NFT: Game 5 - ALCS - Yankees vs Astros from The Stadium - 5p FS1

B in ALB : 10/18/2017 1:50 pm
Well here it is ladies and gents. A chance at the ultimate redemption. Keuchel has absolutely owned the Yankees and it's no secret that he'll have his absolute best stuff today. Can the bats wake up? Do we need to sacrifice a live chicken? Do we need more hats for bats to make sure they're nice and warm? Anything and everything is on the table.

Gotta try to get into the Astros bullpen again - at all costs.

Tanaka-san will be on the mound for the Yanks and has been excellent this postseason. Let's go ahead and continue that, shall we? Arigato gozaimasu.

And have the Yankees bats finally woken up? We shall see said the blind man.

Win and it's back to Houston with a 3-2 lead. Believe it and it will happen.

LGY.

Who in this postseason is pitching better than Tanaka? Last 4 starts: 27 IP, 13 hits, 31 K's, a mere 2 runs. That's a 0.67 ERA #domination

I vote yes, but we all know how Girardi loves to stick with his formula:)
I think

if he's up, he should use him. I see Kahnle is up now.
If we win tonight, you def try to save guys in the pen for game 7

get an inning of work but it's simply too risky. 5-0 isn't a slam dunk. I trust Girardi, no reason not to.

I'm sympathetic to that view, but I feel like Betances has to be shut down for the duration. Too much at risk from here on out.
Kahnle on for the 8th

First pitch of the game, I think.

I honestly don't know what the score would have to be
JoeMoney19 : 10/18/2017 8:10 pm : link
to put Betances back out there again unless it's like the 16th inning. 8 run lead (again)? 12 run lead? No scenario at all? He may just be a dead roster spot at this point.
really curious to see who gets the 9th
TexasGmenFan : 10/18/2017 8:11 pm : link
i really feel like there's no reason to burn DRob or Chapman in (at least) a 5-0 game

was so deadly tonight for Tanaka because it looked just like the slider out of his hand. Best I've ever seen a Yankee pitch, that includes Cone and Wells perfect games.

Maybe Kahnle goes back out there since he only threw 9 pitches. That being said, you might want to give Warren an inning and have Chapman as backup so Kahnle is fresh for potential G6 and G7

Yeah Kahnle seems like a work horse who thrives off work , I love it..

Brian cashman... I mean what can we say??

Lol and to think some here were mad to give up Blake Rutherford for Kahnle, Drob and Toodfather has been nice down the stretch

little boys running around and I have such an overwhelming proud feeling of this team and how Tanaka pitched tonight.

Hard to explain but I can't really say much to my wife about the game.

Just a real sense of satisfaction up to this point.

Makes me feel like the 90's pitching with Andy when we needed big games.

Go Yanks!

wouldn't mind Warren. as much as Kahnle threw only 9 pitches, no need to stretch him too much either. he's been the critical bridge
