NFT: Game 5 - ALCS - Yankees vs Astros from The Stadium - 5p FS1

B in ALB : 10/18/2017 1:50 pm
Well here it is ladies and gents. A chance at the ultimate redemption. Keuchel has absolutely owned the Yankees and it's no secret that he'll have his absolute best stuff today. Can the bats wake up? Do we need to sacrifice a live chicken? Do we need more hats for bats to make sure they're nice and warm? Anything and everything is on the table.

Gotta try to get into the Astros bullpen again - at all costs.

Tanaka-san will be on the mound for the Yanks and has been excellent this postseason. Let's go ahead and continue that, shall we? Arigato gozaimasu.

And have the Yankees bats finally woken up? We shall see said the blind man.

Win and it's back to Houston with a 3-2 lead. Believe it and it will happen.

LGY.

keeping him sharp is very valuable with Betances crapping out

Yeah Kahnle seems like a work horse who thrives off work , I love it..

Brian cashman... I mean what can we say??

Lol and to think some here were mad to give up Blake Rutherford for Kahnle, Drob and Toodfather has been nice down the stretch

Don't forget Clippard who was a + by -.

I think most of us weren’t mad - we’d just all gotten on board for the rebuild which we expected would take longer, and were a little surprised/confused Cashman would be so gung ho to make an all in for this season move like he did.

In hindsight, the trade looks great. Even if Rutherford and/or Mateo turn into stars. Playoff runs like this are special.

Fully agreed, I liked both trades knowing the prospects very well. We still have our top guys as well.

I love this Yankees team so damn much!! Our starting pitching deserves soooooo much love. Especially with all the shit talking and lack of respect they've gotten parts of or all year minus Severino

The thing is, Kahnle is under control at a cheap salary through 2020. Frazier has been a perfect clubhouse / attitude fit and we all love having D-Rob back, but Kahnle was the best asset of the trade.

I've been going to the comments at the Astros SB Nation blog the past few days to bathe in their tears. There has been a guy there losing his mind, and the punchline is that he's not even an Astros fan. He's a butthurt Indians fan.

beating Keuchel could be the key to keeping the heat through to the WS.
They can beat Verlander.
section125 : 10/18/2017 8:34 pm : link
They will beat Verlander. Good Lord beating Keuchel just kicked dirt right in the Astros' face.

Way to go B in ALB - you are vying for ALCS MVP.

Wonder how sharp JV will be after throwing 124 pitches
Dave in PA : 10/18/2017 8:39 pm : link
I could easily look it up, but does anybody know if he’s thrown 120+ pitches at any point this year?
Way ahead of schedule
Phil in LA : 10/18/2017 8:43 pm : link
and the Yanks missed Bird for 4 months, Sanchez for one, DIdi for 3 weeks, Hicks for more than a month, etc. They could have easily won 100 games with their whole team for 150 or so game.
Can't ask for anything more...
bceagle05 : 10/18/2017 8:43 pm : link
Ace on the mound in Game 6, a bullpen that's well-rested, and a stopper like CC ready for Game 7 if need be. Let's bring home the pennant!

Yup all true, plus they lost several close games late when Chapman was struggling or hurt early on
Goosebumps on and off for a while now

I love this team more then any sports team ever besides maybe some of the 90s teams or the 2011 Giants but this team is way way up there who on the list. From guys like Torreyes to Didi to Bird to Judge, Sanchez , The pitchers stepping up..

It's something special we are watching

A special team...great talent, grit, confidence, resilience.

Tanaka with an exceptional playoffs so far.

We are set up great, but it's gonna be a challenge for them. I think they're up to the task.

119 was his high but Verlander's thrown 130 plus a couple of times in the playoffs

And with one exception, has followed it up with a strong performance. He's a workhorse. That's not to say that the Yanks can't chase him, but it won't be a given due to workload.
How much younger was Verlander when he was doing that?

section125 : 10/18/2017 9:20 pm : link
they said Keuchel was bitching about low pitches not being called early as they were in Houston. They implied they were strikes. I saw him bitching at the ump. As usual I thought they were low or outside..

SOB, imagine that, an ump that makes you actually throw strikes.
