as always Sy. What are your thoughts on Jones vs Richburg? Some here want Richburg to remain on the bench, but I think he's a good center who when right, is a much better option than Jones the rest of the way.
review. I don't think Jones, Moss, or Lewis were duds. Jones played well, especially in the run game. Moss is a rookie. Lewis only had one catch, but it was a third and ten conversion for a first down, and we only completed two passes to WRs all game.

To be honest...finding duds in this game was next to impossible. Wouldn't put too much thought in to defending them...I don't think they necessarily played poorly

Ricburg has to be the guy...he has had a solid year when healthy. Jones is a respectable guy considering his hustle and grit, but there isn't anything wrong with him being the backup to all 3 interior spots. You need depth in there.
Was it just my impression, or did John Jerry actually look a little bit better at OLG than ORG? On the left side, he seemed to actually get a little push going in the run blocking that I've NEVER seen him get on the right side.
Sy, just about everyone else is giving Jones high marks for his game, citing his ability to move Peka, especially on Darkwa's 47-yarder. Can you offer some specifics on why you rated him a "dud?" As always, thanks.

As I said before...finding "duds" in this game was pretty hard. I don't think Jones played poorly...but who should have been in there in place of him? I wouldn't stress about that too much.
He did allow 4 tackles, which is more than normal for a center. Peko had 7 tackles...a season high. He was pretty disruptive but Jones did neutralize him on some big plays that were highlighted by NBC...but overall in the game as a whole he was daily average.
On JPPs 2nd sack wasn't it Moss who got there first with pressure causing the QB to setup up into the sack? I thought I saw a quick outside move a few times from Moss.
I wasn't all that pleased to see Hart right back in there last week having Pugh over there and inserting Fluker I
think they found there best combination and I agree about
Jones that Richberg needs to get his job back because of
the upcoming contract . I think we could let him walk and look for a bigger type center next season in round #2
They have to get the WR's more involved . I would like to
see Adams get a few more throws his way as well .
I think he has pretty much shaken the rust off now
I thought Cockrell played physical also. Good to see.
I think you are being too harsh on Jones. That matchup with Pekka is a real challenge in the middle of the LOS. I thought he was a marked improvement over Richburg.
Looking forward to getting Shep back.
Hope they keep the two and three TE look and throw a few to the #2 and #3 TE. That should really keep the Seattle safeties who have to be among the best in the NFL, occupied
Broncos seemed lifeless and not ready to play. Did they mail it in with respect to intensity on man-man battles?
I think that was part of it. I got a few texts the night of the game asking what was going on....my initial response was DEN overlooked NYG. You just can't do that in the NFL these days...even it is for a half. See ATL home against MIA
at some point the NFL will create a consumer-priced product that allows you to more easily identify who is on the field for any given play on the coaches film. I know how hard sometimes it can be to figure out who's playing in which position given the camera angles.
Having said that - I wonder if you noticed whether there was a change in assignment as suggested by one of the beats (can't remember who). They suggested that the NYG saw Sanders in the slot beating Cockrell regularly in the 1Q, and after that Cockrell moved out of the slot generally with Deayon in. Were you able to notice if that happened? I'm curious about that.

The job belongs to Richburg and rightfully so.

Jerry was at least passably mediocre.
He's mentioned a few times.
