Optimistic on both Vernon and Shepard

Chris684 : 10/19/2017 11:38 am
according to Dottino on WFAN.

Vernon feeling better on the ankle.

Shepard was limited but said he felt he could have been a full-go.
Close to full strength

if they can return. We are getting a little thin at LB so a Casilas return would be nice as well.

Shep is the guy we really need. Eli needs a reliable target at WR out there.

I liked how we adjusted in Denver but we can't win too many games playing that way - Eli needs to be able to make some plays to wideouts and having 87 out there will be a big help.
Shepard

Is nice but they used Engram like he plays this past week. Maybe they'll start using Engram on further plays downfield. King is nice to have since he can get deep on some plays.
Small sample size

but Lewis and King have both proven they can make some plays.

Pairing them with Engram and a healthy Shepard is pretty decent.

I look forward to seeing what they can do moving forward.
hopefully

Lewis King and Rudolph learn from last week, in that against good DBs you have to come back to the ball, use your body to protect the ball, etc.

they are going to need those skills again this week

Could lightning strike twice with "quick" Eagan becoming another Cruz?
I'm not entirely sure about Casillas...

his play has been problematic this year. I think he's contributed to fewer 3 and outs. I'm not an expert though. Personally I'd stick with the guys on the field in Denver this week, no matter how Casillas feels.
It comes down to running
Doomster : 10/19/2017 1:34 pm : link
the ball first....

If we can't run the ball like last week, we have no chance of passing it.....I think Double E will get special attention this week....SS is really just a chain mover, not a deep threat, despite that one long one this year...

While this OL shows it can run block, it still has a way to go in pass blocking....

Sullivan and Mac have to come up with a slightly different game plan for this week....
Why rush anyone ...

The team is 1-5 and has a Bye next week, Give them two more weeks to heal, its not like we are in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Next 3 games are winnable. If they are healthy enough to play they have to be out there.
Agree with all of Doomster's comments. Need to see de-evolution back

To 2015 approach and game plans.

Maybe that's what the new play caller brings to the table.

They haven t been mathematically eliminated. If they win this week, Come off their bye, win two more, at 4-5 facing Chiefs at home, are you still going to feel the same way.

Not likely, but these guys get made to try and make it happen. No team has begun 0-5 and made the play offs. But teams have had 5 game losing streaks and gotten there.
