NFT: Fantasy Football 10/20 - Trade question

VenteSette : 10/20/2017 9:21 am
Who didn't bench Amari Cooper? This guy!

Fantasy is considered NFT? Did I do that right?

Mike Gillislee for Russell Wilson. Do you do it? 10 team league so bodies are out there. I have Stafford and picked up Palmer this week for the bye, might switch to Taylor.

Still have: McCoy, Hunt, CJ Anderson, Mixon and Duke Johnson
No

Gillislee

Is a cheap price to pay for Russell Wilson. Not sure why the other party would be willing to part with him so easily, but yes, you do that trade before he changes his mind.
Agree
beatrixkiddo : 10/20/2017 9:36 am : link
run to the podium with that trade.

I got one. I need WR depth, although Cooper came up big for me last night. M.Bryant for Riddick, its PPR, my other RB's are Freeman, Mixon, Coleman, and Mack. WR's Are Cooper, Tate, C.Davis, and currently Robert Woods.

Also, which streamable QB is likely to do the best this week, I have Winston and am so skeptical of him, I would rather wait a week and stay away from him and Fitzpatrick. I have T.Taylor, but McKown, Hundley, Goff and Keenum are all available as well. I need to make up points in my league as I'm in 2nd to last with just some really unlucky matchups this season (Most points against).

Sorry I would be trading Riddick and he giving up Bryant

Haha. Yeah, I figured. He pulled it back. I tried to accept it, but my phone couldn't do it on the metro (I'm in DC. I don't call the subway the metro). I just proposed it to him again. I figured I would run it by you guys in case Wilson blew his shoulder out or something and I missed it.
Yeah i'd trade Riddick for Bryant
MetsAreBack : 10/20/2017 10:00 am : link
Bryant's situation is pretty bad right now, but IMO he still offers more upside this season than Riddick.

Your QB options are really poor - not sure, Taylor i guess though he's struggled without Clay and Matthews too. One might say the Green Bay QB just because New Orleans defense isnt much, but NO has been a little better in recent weeks and that's a bit of a leap of faith... no one knows anything about this guy.
If Winston
pjcas18 : 10/20/2017 10:12 am : link
plays I'd start him.

Otherwise flip a coin. Hundley has the best WR's with Nelson, Cobb, and Adams.

Glad I had Amari Cooper on my bench last night.

man sorry pjacs
beatrixkiddo : 10/20/2017 10:20 am : link
in my 14 team league, i don't have the luxury to even bench him, so i lucked out.

Thing I worry about with Winston is even if they start him, what if that shoulder flares up and they take him out for Fitz, I think he needs a week off to recover.

Maybe I'll take Hundley over Taylor, I like Taylor with a week off and hosting the Bucs with how bad theat D is, but yeah, who knows.
I have
pjcas18 : 10/20/2017 10:22 am : link
Evans, M. Thomas and T. Hill in as starters and my flex so I had to leave Cooper on my bench.

I wouldn't even second guess that decision, it was the right call based on Cooper's season so far even if Winston is banged up or doesn't start.

though 51 points on my bench hurts.

It happens to us all...and it sucks. Don't let it rent space in your brain. You made the right call with the information you had at the time.
I started Cooper, but
VenteSette : 10/20/2017 10:33 am : link
I was seriously considering benching him for Jeffery when I heard that Peterson was probably out. I usually use an RB (CJ Anderson) as my FLEX because they have just been scoring so much better (until last week!).

I thought Pryor and Cooper would be no-brainers, but they have really sucked. Thank God for Kareem Hunt.

Happy Friday. I think you should make that trade for Bryant. I think there is plenty of upside for him, and you are deep at RB. You might explore other trade partners...you might try the Jermaine Kearse owner. Kearse is a bit underrated. Another guy I think you should consider targeting is Randall Cobb. With Hundley coming in, I like Cobb, working the middle of the field, to get a few more looks.

Which is a good segue to your next question...I am really intrigued by Hundley but you can't start him this week. If you can stash him, do so. The weapons are there, and this kid may have some McCarthy Magic to him. This week, you have to play Tyrod. Bills at home, and against a terrible Bucs defense that has allowed the 2nd most fantasy points per game to opposing passers. Play Tyrod. He's a lock for at least 20 fantasy points this week.

I'm strongly considering benching Hilton this week - JAX secondary is outstanding and I really can't afford an egg from him.

The alternative is to flex Engram. I'm starting Reed @ TE - which I'm not crazy about, either.

Other options would be either Chris Thompson or Sanu.

Right now my 3 WR are Jordy, Keenan and Theilen.

Thoughts?
Start Derrick Henry or Jerick McKinnon?

Yes! He just accepted. It is "subject to league approval" but looking good. Now I can dump Palmer and play a kicker.

My keepers are Gordon Gurley and Cooper
3 WRs start with a flex 10 team half point ppr

RB: Gordon Gurley Abdullah Derrick Henry James White Marlon Mack Mcfadden
WR: Cooper Adams Parker Funchess Corey Davis Doctson
TE: Austin Seferian Jenkins

Everyone is makin offers for Henry after MNF. Do I hang onto Henry to flex him for the playoffs?

Let the offers come in and make a deal if it makes sense. This kind of over-reaction is what you want. People over pay.
I am in a league where my team is loaded...
EricJ : 10/20/2017 1:47 pm : link
so much so that I actually did not want to drop a player to pick up a defense while my defense was on bye. So, I rolled with my team and no defense last weekend and still won. Now, the realization that I need to fix this roster situation means I should make a trade. Been trying to do a 2 for 1 player swap with a few teams but have no takers so far.

So you're not a Henry believer? I was also getting low ball offers for Amari Cooper before last night.

Gronk would be a perfect fit for my team wouldn't he? I lost Eifert but Seferian-Jenkins has been solid..
Not so sure I'd be eager to trade
pjcas18 : 10/20/2017 1:51 pm : link
Henry.

After Gurley and Gordon you are paper thin at RB.

Abdullah was in double digits twice all year, the past two weeks he had a 4 and a 5 pt week. Mack has the same # of 0 point weeks as he's had double digits, White is the most consistent of the bunch, but Deon Lewis looked for the first time all year last Sunday night like he's fully back from the injury. McFadden has zero value while Zeke is still playing and then who knows. You have two bye weeks and risk of injury.

Starting any of those other guys would not be ideal and neither Gordon nor Gurley has had their bye yet (though Henry and Gurley have the same bye).

Unless you're blown away I'd hold Henry.
Yeah
Mr. Nickels : 10/20/2017 1:57 pm : link
I also cut Peterson.. but still he is good for 3 games after this week until David Johnson is back?
I was
Mr. Nickels : 10/20/2017 2:00 pm : link
wrong with the Latavius Murray claim.. it ended up being McKinnon.

Alex Collins Thomas Rawls Matt Breida on waivers..

Would you drop Mcfadden and/or Mack for either? Some are saying Rawls is gonna be the guy in Seattle.. McFadden is a gamble on if Zeke starts his suspension week 9..

RE: Start Derrick Henry or Jerick McKinnon?

Heisenberg, I would start Derrick Henry this week. On paper, McKinnon is a good start against a Baltimore defense that got thrashed by Jordan Howard this week. But BEWARE (let's go with the Halloween theme), I believe Baltimore is going to sell out against the run this week and dare Keenum to beat them on his arm. I like McKinnon overall, and Baltimore has been run on this season consistently, but the overall talent here is Henry. Even though he's going against a Cleveland defense that has been strong against the run...think of this game in terms of game script, and I think you will see a lot of Henry, and I expect him to go for at least 90 yards and a score on the Browns. *This fantasy advise goes against conventional thinking, but football often does as well, so I'm upgrading Henry over McKinnon in the face of other fantasy prognosticators.

NEIN! NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN! I wouldn't trade Henry. If the Titans has indeed moved to Henry as their primary back, you could be looking at Murray playing elsewhere next season, and you all of a sudden have a top-5 running back, which of course you keep. And I would keep him in that scenario over Gordon and any WR except for Brown. Henry is a supreme talent with a dominant O-line and a run-oriented offense. You can't ask for a better situation and it was only a matter of time before he took the lead in that backfield. Both for this year and for the future, stay with Henry.

Wow keep him over Melvin Gordon? Gordon has been a stud. We get half PPR.

I also think Cooper is legit and has a long career ahead of him with Carr. How do you not keep Cooper?

He might be top 5 but Gordon's top 3. I will just ride the 3 of them this year. But I am most definitely in WIN NOW mode and I need to win this year. I can trade picks for Gronk and recoup the picks when I trade Henry next draft.

+1
Thompson has been scoring and Reed and Sanu are banged up. I know the Pats matchup is inviting, but Sanu already has one game afer the bye with no production and hamstring issues tend to linger. I'm also not a fan of flexing a TE. I don't think there is much upside. Reed hasn't been doing much anyway and Davis has been outperforming him. Philly does okay against RBs, but Thompson is going to do his damage with receiving yards anyway.

arcarsenal : 10/20/2017 4:55 pm : link
Thanks, fellas... sound logic and I agree.

I've had Chris Thompson since Week 2 and the only week I started him was the week he put up close to a 0.. ain't that how it always goes? Watch it happen again...

Nah I think he'll be a solid flex option this week against the Eagles. He actually got 16 carries last week in addition to his catches even though he did close to nothing with them. So the work should be there.
Gordon is really TD dependent.
allstarjim : 10/20/2017 6:49 pm : link
And Henry is a better talent than Gordon, it's not close. We are talking about next year. So we will have the benefit of seeing the rest of this year's games before making that determination.

I think Gordon is highly overrated. As a fantasy performer, ypc doesn't count for or against points. But he's been a sub-4.0 ypc RB for all three seasons of his career. He's at 3.6 ypc. He has one 100-yard rushing game. I get it, they use him in the passing game, and that counts as well. But his real value comes because he's been getting in the end zone. 7 TDs thus far this year, 12 TDs last year. And it may look like I'm arguing against myself, but what happens when the Chargers draft a third down RB or a guy who is more efficient on the ground with his carries? What happens if the TD opportunities diminish? I go with the superior talent, and I wouldn't trade Henry now. He is the better runner in a better offense for him to thrive. And no way is Gordon top 3.

I agree Gordon isn't top 3. But Henry isn't top 5 with Murray gone either. Gordon actually catches passes unlike Henry, so a 3rd down back would worry me a lot more when the Titans draft one than if the Chargers did.
I just proposed the following trade
santacruzom : 10/23/2017 3:38 am : link
To a guy who lost Rodgers and only had Trevor Siemian in his lineup:

He gets: Russell Wilson and Davonta Freeman

I get: Siemian and Kareem Hunt.

It's a keeper league, and he'd be able to keep Wilson for two more years at the cost of a 6th rounder and Freeman for one more year at the cost of a 2nd. I'd have Hunt for two more years for a 3rd rounder. I also have Watson at QB.

I doubt he says yes, but we'll see.
