NFT: Game 6 - ALCS - Yankees vs Astros - 8p FS1

B in ALB : 10/20/2017 5:33 pm
Well here we are folks. If I told you at the beginning of the season we as fans would be in a position to watch our team one game away from playing in the World Series - would you believe me? I still don't really believe it NOW! It has been an absolute pleasure to watch this team and they have far exceeded even my wildest expectation.

Tonight we have Redemption Part II as the Yankees face a pitcher who has had excellent postseason success against them dating back to his early days with Detroit. Much like Keuchel the other night - he pitched absolutely lights out in Game 2 - and here is a chance to erase that memory and stamp their tickets to the World Series. If anyone can do it, it's our boys.

The. World. Fuckin. Series!

Unfortunately, my son has a football playoff game tonight and I will not be in my customary spot on the couch watching intently, sipping my voddy and beer, chatting with you fine people on BBI. HOWEVER, I will be bringing a bit of the good stuff with me and I will be streaming the game from the stands. Wouldn't miss this one! No way, no how. All hands on deck!

Can't wait.

LGY.

Go Yankees!

Do not give them a sliver of hope. With all the momentum, stomp on their throats.

Bingo...I expect Verlander to bring his A game again, and so will Sevy. Keep it close and let’s beat their bullpen...

...and go to the fuckin World Series boys!!!

pitching be great, scoring lots of runs, and celebrate this fantastic run of baseball.
Great point about outlasting Verlander.
Crispino : 10/20/2017 7:16 pm : link
However, I think he may throw 130 pitches if they are ahead or tied. He gives them their best chance and there's no tomorrow to save him for.
Haha did anyone just hear Big Papi on the pregame?
mfsd : 10/20/2017 7:18 pm : link
They were talking about the last time the Dodgers won the Series, and the host asked him how old he was in 88

And he said I don’t know man, I’m Dominican...I was about 13, 18, 21...

Haha...I can’t help but admit it...he’s really grown on me watching him do his best on the pregame with ARod and Keith Hernandez, despite his English not being great
Going into game 5 I kept thinking that we need to take pitches
robbieballs2003 : 10/20/2017 7:23 pm : link
To get these pitch counts up and get to the bullpen earlier. But after watching what the Yanks did I think it is better to be going after the first pitch in these at bats. They are the best pitches to hit. When we are patient we put ourselves in the hole them expand the strike zone for these pitchers. Verlander kept climing the ladder. Keuchel kept using both sides of the plate. Headley cannot handle an inside pitch. Judge and Sanchez werent htting early in the series especially later in the count. They looked foolish. So, I think we should be swinging early and often on Verlander. Don't let him get ahead in the count before they get the bat off of their shoulder.

Very good point...if you’re AJ Hinch, you’re probably still more confident in Verlander at 120 pitches than anyone in your pen
One good thing is,
Photoguy : 10/20/2017 7:57 pm : link
Verlander or not, it's all hands on deck for them. Hopefully we run into a couple fastballs with men on base.
