NFT: Game 6 - ALCS - Yankees vs Astros - 8p FS1

B in ALB : 10/20/2017 5:33 pm
Well here we are folks. If I told you at the beginning of the season we as fans would be in a position to watch our team one game away from playing in the World Series - would you believe me? I still don't really believe it NOW! It has been an absolute pleasure to watch this team and they have far exceeded even my wildest expectation.

Tonight we have Redemption Part II as the Yankees face a pitcher who has had excellent postseason success against them dating back to his early days with Detroit. Much like Keuchel the other night - he pitched absolutely lights out in Game 2 - and here is a chance to erase that memory and stamp their tickets to the World Series. If anyone can do it, it's our boys.

The. World. Fuckin. Series!

Unfortunately, my son has a football playoff game tonight and I will not be in my customary spot on the couch watching intently, sipping my voddy and beer, chatting with you fine people on BBI. HOWEVER, I will be bringing a bit of the good stuff with me and I will be streaming the game from the stands. Wouldn't miss this one! No way, no how. All hands on deck!

Can't wait.

It’s hard to define why Verlanders FB is so hard to catch up to
mfsd : 10/20/2017 8:42 pm : link
He throws 95, not 100, but it’s somehow deceptive velocity I think...guys like Bird, Didi and Sanchez who usually hammer fastballs always seem to have a hard time squaring it up
No score after 2

Verlander gets late movement on it. That's why it's very hard to put barrel to it
Two innings in the books.

I like jumping on him early in the count. He's going to get popped for a big fly soon enough.

With Severino pitching like this, the more pressure it puts on the Astros. Verlander is dealing, but he will break.
Let's go boys!

all of the mouth running they do. Verlander and other pitchers have gotten plenty of generous strikes and that one to Altuve wasn't even that bad. They're definitely pressing though. If the Yankees can jump out to a lead, it'll be huge.
Altuve

Lotta bark in that little dog. Whole lotta bark.
First hit allowed by Severino

Can't blame the home crowd for over the top support. It's part of the deal in post season.

I can't fault anyone for getting mad about the strike calls tonight, so many unhittable strikes being thrown. Gotta credit the Yankees for taking it like men though.
Let’s go

1-0 Houston
awful serifes of pitches by sevy
jgambrosio : 10/20/2017 9:40 pm : link
no reason gattis and mccann should have done any damage. they're both hitting under .100 in the postseason. this game may be over the way verlander is pitching.
