How good is Philly?

Route 9 : 10/20/2017 11:44 pm
Best team in the NFC now Rodgers is hurt? NFL?

Haven't watched much of them...Wentz looks like to be the real deal though when I do catch some highlights. Hard to care at 1-5 about other teams in the division when they're 5-1.
right now, may be the best team in NFC
micky : 10/20/2017 11:49 pm : link
.
The addition of Blount (who was courted by the Giants) ....
Manny in CA : 10/20/2017 11:51 pm : link

Makes their offense very complete.
South Jersey just fucking sucks
Route 9 : 10/20/2017 11:56 pm : link
when they're doing well. Y

(Yeah, Chris we know it's nothing compared to Philly, but still..)
The should have lost to the 1-5 Giants
BlueHurricane : 10/20/2017 11:58 pm : link
So there's that...........
They remind me of the 2005 Giants...
bradshaw44 : 10/21/2017 12:15 am : link
Getting some lucky bounces while flashing signs of brilliance. Could end up 11-5 but struggle mightily in the playoffs. I think they are clearly headed in the right direction. If they keep drafting well and Wentz doesn’t get hurt we could see them back to their early 2000’s level of competitiveness. Which will suck. Especially because it’s not Reed/Mcnabb anymore. These two may know how to get over the hump. Yuck
The city ??
blueblood : 10/21/2017 12:18 am : link
It sucks... The Team? See the City...
NFL is a league of parity
slickwilly : 10/21/2017 12:44 am : link
or translated mediocrity. They are good, but that much better than other NFC teams? No, not really. Could have lost to the Giants at home, but didnt. They are pretty good, but have seen nothing to lead me to believe they are the team to beat in the NFC. It's a crap shoot this year.
After week six they are the team to beat in the NFC
joeinpa : 10/21/2017 7:33 am : link
It things change weekly in this league.

i. e. At the end of the 2007 season the Giants were the best team in football. After two weeks many thought they were one of the worse.
Worthless being the "best" team right now
Jimmy Googs : 10/21/2017 8:03 am : link
Although I would rather be 5-1 too so...
It is a tough time
BigBlueHens : 10/21/2017 8:32 am : link
to be going to school in northern Delaware. All you hear about is how they are by far the best team in the NFC. The hype for them is unreal right now.
There's no great team this year
DavidinBMNY : 10/21/2017 9:12 am : link
They are as good as anyone.
Blount and that running game is really helping them....
Simms11 : 10/21/2017 9:13 am : link
Additionally, Ertz has been uncoverable and their defense is playing very well. Lastly, Wentz appears to fit that offense well and is coming of age, so it appears. I’d have to say they currently look like the most complete team. With that said, either a good defensive play or a better punt, in the Eagles game, and we should have won, in Philly no less.
They are a mediocre
Kevin(formerly Tiki4Six) : 10/21/2017 10:43 am : link
Football team that is benefiting from a terrible NFL product.

Honestly , the product on the field across the board is not very good.
Playing really well
Matt in SGS : 10/21/2017 10:54 am : link
best team in the NFC
and peaking too soon.

They barely use him. They are kind of pissed here in Philly that he isn’t used more.

Should have lost to the Giants. But that's what bad teams do: find ways to lose.

Yeah, let's see them in early December - Broncos then four road games in 5 at Cowboys, Seahawks, Giants and Rams.

They've built nice depth offensively, but their back 7 can be had.
Good, but
trueblueinpw : 10/21/2017 11:11 am : link
They only remember what your do in December. I’m happy for the Philthy Green Birds to hit their peak right about now.

Fly Eagles, fly, fly right into a fucking jet engine.
Well
RetroJint : 10/21/2017 11:15 am : link
look at the record. Young, strong QB who can make every throw . He can extend and create with his legs and running ability . NFC favorite now with the injury to Rodgers . Very early but rather promising for the Trogs .

running ability and extending plays helps, and sometimes it hurts the QB alot...
I said it preseason
annexOPR : 10/21/2017 11:39 am : link
They were my biggest concern in the division

Very good OL, great additions to the WR Corp, and an excellent defensive front .. Wentz was the wildcard - and he’s going to be a stud

Short version: this season is a nightmare
They are also very old
Essex : 10/21/2017 2:15 pm : link
Or using players that are on one year deals. Graham and Curry are near 30, Peters is 35 and Kelce is over 30. Lane Johnson is one PED from being gone. Jernigan on final year of contract, same for Jeffrey. Blount has some wear and tear, too. Philly has won 4 of their 5 games by less than a TD, sound familiar to a team.

I have no idea who the best team is in the NFC, but what I do know is that philly can be one of the worst and one of the best if you played the season over 100 times—that’s just the modern nfl, margins for victory are so slim. Shit, we could be 4-2
This year has been a kick in the balls
Paulie Walnuts : 10/21/2017 4:45 pm : link
the ultimate kick in the balls would Philly winning it all, so no please
It's still early
WillVAB : 10/21/2017 4:55 pm : link
But right now they're the least flawed team in a flawed NFC.

I think they're on path for an early playoff exit, but who knows. I don't think they're quite ready yet to threaten a run.

There's still a lot of football to be played. Whomever gets hot down the stretch will rep the NFC.
Philly is probably the best team in the NFC
annexOPR : 10/21/2017 5:50 pm : link
The conference is a mess

Wentz, Blount, Ertz, Alshon, OL, Front 7 ... they are good. I don’t like it, but they are good - and Wentz is the real deal.
As Bill Parcells said, you are what your record say you are! They
SterlingArcher : 10/21/2017 7:45 pm : link
are right now the best team in the NFC or even in the whole NFL!

This is what I noticed. Wentz has been hit a lot this year. I'm curious to see if he holds up.
