NFT: Game 7 - Yankees vs Astros - 8:08p tonight FS1

B in ALB : 10/21/2017 2:05 pm
Last night was a clusterfuck. Some strikezone we witnessed. Awesome. But that's over now and we're right where we want to be. I'm ready to battle again and I'm sure you guys are too.

Game 7 for all the marbles. Still in good shape and facing a pitcher starting for the first time this series. But he'll be tough for sure. Gotta get into their bullpen and CC has to be CC. And the bats need to come alive again - this time in a very hostile environment.

We play today, we win today, das it.

Why can't the Astros beat the Dodgers? I find Altuve to be a douche and don't particularly care for this group of Astros players, but why will it be a boring series?

I probably won't watch much of it, but I think the Astros have a chance
Wonder if Cashman

is kicking himself for not pulling the trigger on Verlander. Steinbrenner would have never let him get away especially if he was going to a playoff rival.

I’d sacrifice the remainder of the Giants shitty season for a Yankee win tonight.

That's like trading a half eaten old ham sandwich for a trip to the WS.

Can see their offense completely locked up by LA's pitching. Also think the Dodgers offense will hit Keuchel and Verlander better than we did
9th inning Yankee lightning miracle

Maybe not winning will help Cashman to make the rational decisions

this offseason. Give CC a reasonable deal and no more. I wouldn't bring Frazier back unless you can get rid of Headley. I don't know about giving Tanaka another 5year/120M deal. Must trade Castro....

NO way do we give Tanaka another 5 years, add on to his existing contract, but not another 5 years.

Like I said a couple of times, this is nowhere near a finished product. The Astros pretty much are a finished product that will get no better than they are now.

We've got Gleyber, Andujar, Chance Adams, Justus Sheffield, Clint Frazier and possibly Estevan Florial waiting in the wings

Absolutely. A good offseason and we'll definitely be representing the AL next year in the World Series. They met a team that was at least 2-3 years ahead of them in terms of team development who will get no better than they are now
hell of a season. Final three teams

A game away from the pennant. This team surprised all season and were a joy to watch.

Hats off to the Astros. Great baseball team with a ton of talent who a heck of a season while representing a city that went through an unimaginable disaster.

The future is bright.

yeah exactly, we had a little perspective. 2001 was and may always be my favorite World Series. Just the way they fought when they had not business winning any games in that series.

2001 was the absolute worst...we were reeling from 9/11 and the Yanks helped heal the city with that postseason run. I'd trade any of the other World Series years where we won for a title that year
It took me weeks to get over 2001.

Great season, obviously
illmatic : 10/21/2017 11:29 pm : link
Despite the disappointing last two games. I don't know how much they can do to improve this team in the offseason if they're really trying to cut back on the payroll but I guess we'll see. I just expect them to re-sign Tanaka and re-sign Sabathia and Frazier to short term deals. I expect mostly the same team to return with more of the young guys being worked in through the season as injuries happen.

What Cashman really needs to do is figure out how to get rid of Castro and Ellsbury. Castro can provide some hitting during the season but he's a negative in the playoffs. Hopefully Torreyes would be able to hold 2B down until Torres is ready. Ellsbury is just useless dead weight. I suppose they'd have to package a good prospect or two with him just to get rid of him and I doubt that's happening. I would include Headley in there but he only has one year left and they seem to like him as somewhat of a 1B/3B/DH utility guy now.
