it's his complete lack of mobility and inability to slide around to avoid pressure. In 2011 he was Brady like in this regard. In 2017 he's Bledsoe like
I think he's at a point in his career where he's not going to be Â
consistent week after week. He was great in Philly. He certainly played well enough to win in Tampa. He didn't play well against San Diego and that was BEFORE the receivers got hurt. He can't even use the excuse of the running game against the Chargers.
How soon do you realistically think we can get all these pieces around him, namely a few new o-linemen and a RB? I've read people talk about Minnesota, but their highest paid player left in free agency... that's not happening with the Giants.
I think Eli is moving around pretty well out there Â
I know it's fun to speculate about trade scenarios, physical declines, cutting him, etc...
But barring catastrophic injury (which could happen this year, thanks Reese), he will be the starting QB on opening day next year.
That doesn't mean that we won't draft a Quarterback with our Top 5 pick, it just means that Manning will be here to groom the next QB, whether that's Webb or whomever we draft.
This is Manning's team until his contract is up. That reality needs to be accepted.
He had some bad throws yesterday. He’s not getting a ton of help. No run game yesterday and shaky receiving corps. But when you make almost 20 million I don’t want to hear excuses.
However he botched several throws yesterday that were clearly on him. Nobody can deny that.
He’s here one more year but I don’t see him here in 2019.
I agree with Britt that Eli will play out contract Â
But a qb is needed so he can watch Eli for a year and than take over.
This team needs a complete re-haul and you do not do that with an old qb making 20 million a year.
Thank You Eli for the memories and being a great Giant..
But we will only get out from under this mess when the whole team is turned over except a couple of young guys.
We can cry that wait till Eli is gone and see how bad it gets. One you guys do not know that but it has been bad for most of a decade under Eli and TC and MacAdoo. So is not like we are going to miss year in and year out of playoffs
You want to say he still throws it hard enough to be a winning/serviceable QB? Sure, but to say he hasn't lost arm strength is a major stretch.
I still see him fit the ball in tight spots and throw a fairly accurate deep ball.
It's not like he's Peyton with the Broncos out there.

LOL... you can't make this shit up...
