I did do a quick search and didn't see if this was mentioned...I'm sure someone will let me know if it was, and I'll delete if so.
I listened to him on the Fan today and man he just really seemed bothered by the thought of him being replaced.
Obviously it isn't something he is going to be happy about, but I found it hard to listen to and not feel bad for Eli. He just seemed to have a hard time finding his words (not the usual).
“I want to be out there for my teammates, and part of that is to be there each and every week for your team and to fight through little injuries and (being) banged up and just show that you’re ready to go,” Manning said when asked about the possibility of the streak coming to an end. “Obviously, if the organization ever wants to go a different route and play someone else, then that’s different. It’s not about one person’s starting streak continuing if you’ve got to do what’s best for the team and what’s best for this organization. Hopefully, they think I give us the best chance to win. And if they don’t believe that, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.”

Maybe I'm just misinterpreting.
Eli deserves better. Im ok with playing webb if thats the call but Mcadoo and all his crap in the press when it comes to eli bugs the hell out of me

No he was saying that if they want him gone he would understand.
Eli is a class act and deserves to be out there on Sundays
Eli deserves better as do others
Webb wont do any better than Eli.
Webb wont do any better than Eli.
How many open deep passes has Eli missed the last few weeks, or even this year. He missed Shepard and then King twice on back o back plays at the end of the 1st have.
Can Webb do better than Eli, right now? No, or he'd be in there right now.
Do they need to see what they have in Webb? Depends on if he is ready to play, but it might be wise to see what he can do.
If ownership approves of sitting Eli then the once proud franchise has changed significantly. Eli can win, why kick him to curb. Again it’s all because of Reese and Macadoo and Now Eli is the fall guy. Wow.
If Webb shows he's ready, doubtful, then he can earn a start.
For all Manning's issues, he is not the reason they are terrible.
It all comes to the orchestration of the roster and bad decision making from the top.
Someone brought it up yesterday and it's very true (and odd): when do you see McAdoo talking to anyone, ever? On the sidelines he's just staring off into space with a blank look. He's never coaching anyone up, having a dialogue, etc. Very strange.
I also remember a clip of McAdoo addressing the team at a meeting after he replaced Coughlin. Monotone, no personality, a walking cliche. I can't imagine he makes a real connection with anyone. I'll bet there were more than a few snickers when he showed up with an 18-year old's haircut and Jordan's.
Sometimes it's hard to believe how incompetent someone is, who rises to this level. He had NO BUSINESS even being the Offensive Coordinator here and he somehow became Head Coach. Unreal.
IMO - he will go back to being a position coach when we relieve him of his duties. I can't imagine anyone would be stupid enough to even give him an OC job. He can't handle it, and he's proven that about as conclusively as possible on the biggest stage.

Completely agree. I think it is time to move on. The Giants are in full rebuild mode, and you don't do that with a declining, soon-to-be 37 year old QB. I thought all along that Eli and McAdoo had an agreement that would allow him to criticize Eli to take the heat off of the younger guys, but it's pretty clear that it is getting to Eli (not that I can blame him).
I think the Giants should be giving Webb many more reps in practice to get him ready. Let him play 2nd halfs to start with. Let Eli break his brother's start record, but after that, let Webb play as much as his performance allows. We have to see what we have in him, or if we need to look at QB again next draft.
I don't see them cleaning house. People will lose their minds but I see Reese getting a pass and McAdoo getting the axe. Ownership is certain that McAdoo has lost the team and all of his credibility. Reese will likely be spared, with an edict to fix the O-Line. A new coach will come in, with the core of the team in tact, with the hope that you can turn things around quickly. We've learned in this league that a team can do an about face in one year- case in point the Giants this year.
There are pieces in place on D under contract... There are weapons in Beckham, Shepherd and Engraham.
Right now, the idea is fix the O-Line, let Eli play out his deal and hopefully make one more run at it...
If a 2 time super bowl mvp can't get the offense going why would an inexperienced 3rd string QB do any better?
Football is the ultimate team game. Remember that.

You are right that people will lose their minds if Reese escapes accountability once again. So let's allow the guy who has missed on so many OL be the one to fix it? This is the very definition of insanity.
It is going to be very hard for ownership to explain how getting rid of the coach but keeping the GM is a good idea when they did the very same thing 2 years ago. Ownership needs to hire someone to run the entire organization, let him hire the GM and HC.
This is the exact mentality that has ruined the second half of Eli's career.

Yup. ‘Make one more run at it’ should be completely eliminated from any organizational dialogue.

new GM/Coach/Staff would Eli at 37 really be excited to come back for that? Especially if we pick a franchise QB? I love Eli. He will be in the pantheon of Giant greats. He may even be an NFL HOF'er. However it always ends. Favre in GB, Unitas in Baltimore, Montana in SF etc... it isn't usually pretty in the end but one thing is for sure, It always ends.

You see Reese getting a pass?
So you're just offering opinions and don't actually have any inside info? Got it.
