I won't bother talking about the offense....it is what it is with the players we have on the field....
The defense is a whole different story.....yes, we had guys like Munson, Grant, and Cockrell out there....
But what was scary was the play of Collins, Apple, DRC, and JPP......
That long pass play to Everett, was repeated a second time with Watkins.....in both plays, the corner released the man, thinking the safety would pick him up....both times Collins was the safety and he failed miserably.....
Eli Apple...OMG....how does he not follow Woods at the goal line? And then half hearted attempt on 3rd and 33?
DRC, just looks to me to be playing out the string....he seems to be picking his spots where he thinks he can make plays.....
Along with Snacks and JPP, these 5 are the core of this defense.....
Snacks must be frustrated as hell out there....of the 5 he was the only one giving some sort of effort....
JPP, what a joke! How much are we paying this guy? I saw him make one play....one freakin' play all game! His two other tackles were gifts....Pass Rush? He had none.....he was stonewalled just about every time, one on one, against the Ram Tackle.....and his run defense, it looked like his eyes were closed because they were running by him all game.....
I have never seen, DB's be blocked downfield like ours were yesterday....in some cases flattened....for the most part, nobody attacked the runner/receiver.....they just stood their ground and were easily pushed by, by WR's no less...there was absolutely no effort by these guys.....
Any non Giant fan watching this defense had to be wondering, are these guys just going through the motions, because it certainly looked that way!
Spags, your the DC.....how does your team get repeatedly beat for long plays? This stupid zone defense is a joke.....it's time to go man to freakin' man....if the guy gets beat, so be it.....it's better than watching three guys stare at someone thinking, "I thought you had him!"

That is a sign of grasping at straws trying to make the D work; when all else appears to fail thats what you do.
