NFT: car battery

snickers : 11/8/2017 11:11 am
The wife left the car door open and battery drained. Battery is 2 years old. Car restarted after it was boosted. Do we need to recharge the battery at a garage or will driving it and the alternator be enough? Thanks
I would charge it ...

to get it back to full strength, especially with the cold weather coming
If the battery is in good shape just keeping it running following

a jump and going about your business should be fine. You could take to any Autozone, Advanced, etc. or probably your local mechanic to do a battery test if you wanted. At the brand name stores it's free of charge. Not sure where you live, but with winter coming probably worthwhile.
Would not hurt to throw in on a charger.

Likely will be fine as long as the car ran for an hour or so.

Should be fine. An auto parts store can put their computor on it

for no charge to let you know if cells are fine. Most chain store auto parts are honest and do it for no charge. I wouldn't worry much about it though with a 2 year old battery.
take in on the highway should be fine

All the cars we’ve had for the last 15 years or so turn the interior lights off after awhile if you’ve left them on or left a door open.
thanks guys

just because it is working now does not mean it will continue to work. 2 years on a battery and this event, get it checked out especially under load.
