I'm just stating how I feel. If I am Sy and putting in the work he does, I take that seriously. I don't want to be associated with a site that allows people to do what slade does.
Now I understand the canundrum(sp?) as slade used to be someone that hit on some stuff. If that is the case(and I certainly don't remember that long ago), he clearly has jumped the shark. The only thing Slade hit was Marshall, but it's very clear what he does(sees a news story and then posts some BS in the hopes it comes true). He's been wrong about the OL(mentioned on multiple occassions that we were close to a trade. Hes been wrong on the coach, personnel moves in the offseason, the eraser. NOt only has he been wrong on all of it, there has been no mention of any of it in the press. Don't you think something would have leaked if they were discussing?
No argument from me -- but if I was a betting man I'd take the odds that Slade will not be posting anymore
1] he is not abusive, unlike some on this site
2] has not picked fights with anyone
3] he is not selling anything
4] whether what he says is true or not, the threads are still entertaining.
5] don't believe him, don't click on his thread

My First Thought Was To Vote To Ban but since I stopped believing Slade a long time ago and his threads are so entertaining, I voted to let him stay.
I'm especially amused by how many posters continue to believe him after he's been wrong over and over and over again.
It's like watching Lucy hold the football for Charlie Brown.
Poor Charlie Brown. Poor pranked Posters.
Was a poll responsible for insiders being called asshats on here? Â
It is good to be in this community–many would say, it is a privilege. But what does our community really consist of?
Basically, it consists of words. Only words. Words that can make us think happy thoughts or angry ones–words that keep us well informed, and in touch with the rest of the world.
If the words are sometimes mistaken--made in error, that can be forgiven. Nobody is perfect. But as a community we rely on the words to be well intended and factually true, or to be a true expression of a poster’s opinion.
Words that are intentional lies have no place in a community that consists only of words and where all we have to rely on are words.
We have options for Football Topics and Non Football Topics when we post. Why not either a) Create a new "Rumors" tag, so that those people who want to see those posts can check them out, or b) Assign a permanent sticky for "Rumors", and set up rules so that people who want to post "inside information" without a linked source (like Slade) would have to post in that section, and not on the main topic area?
A lot of the outrage here is that people can post "insider" stuff in the main Football topic area, and it's almost impossible to tell if they are trolling, or have real information that may or may not come out the way they posted it. A "Rumors" sticky would avoid that (with the help of the Mods, who could educate new asshats, and discipline those who are abusing it).
It would also make the board a bit friendlier for those "insiders" who like to share information, as there's no reason to attack someone posting in a "Rumors" sticky.

I like this idea. I wonder how difficult it would be to implement.
Seriously. The rest of the voting through the day was pretty steady (and was trending toward ban) - in the afternoon, ban started to pull away and then there was a sudden spike in keep. Then the evening spike to put keep over the top? It's odd.
just pouting that they didn't get their pound of flesh. Look, Eric put it to a vote and set the deadline for 8PM. He can certainly respect the outcome of the poll or he can disregard it entirely. His site - His rules. But don't be upset because you didn't get the results that you wanted.
The troll is powerless if you ignore him. And everybody knows it, but for some reason nobody can help themselves, and they waste immense amounts of time bitching about the troll and trying to make it go away.
i dont care either way but did he break any actual rules?
Why are you presuming "he" break any rules? Eric set up the poll to only allow a single vote from a single IP. Sure you could vote from multiple devices, but the poll didn't count multiple votes from the same device. One of the last screens on the poll allowed you to share the poll. It could easily have been shared on someone's facebook feed imploring friends to vote keep. Nothing against the rule. BBI isn't some secret outpost on the interweb.

I know you can't post up BS news like "Hall Signs!!!" etc. However, this was posted as asshat info which Slade has been woefully lacking this year (Hankins re-sign)..

My wife just asked the same thing... We're both kind of laughing about this.
8PM sound good?
The poll I'd like to see is which faux-insider BBI would prefer... Slade or area junk.
LOL... no, I'm a dinosaur. I had a piece of crap cellphone for a while but never turned it on.

That one still confuses me.
:)
Umm no it not, they are not working together in any way shape or form. Nor does it appear that they are.
And the Ron Mexico band fucking rocks!
Lol Shep is back! We needed you off the IR

Except many voted multiple times committing voting fraud.

Those two voting spikes sure are interesting, both when "keep" was way behind.
As of 9:08PM, it looks like more people want him to stay. I was sure he was toast.
When I last checked, he was losing. I was actually coming on to ban him and checked one more time and was surprised he pulled ahead.
Spike, you can't. It's called double jeopardy.
Am I allowed to make a joke about Russians hacking the poll?
(If not, I take it back)
