Maybe I missed the explanation, but myself and a few other posters asked what happened to Chris in Philly when it was mentioned he was banned last week. There was even a thread, which I can no longer find, dedicated to this inquiry at one point. But, again, I never saw an explanation and I would very much like to know as he is a long time poster I enjoy reading.
LOL @ Barilko ! Never met the guy in person, but his character on the site was similar to this guy...

so I disagree with whatever has caused this perception
RT also knows not to come on here
- as to Chris - well - I love the guy -- it's really up to him as to whether or not he wishes to return.
If you think this place is so mismanaged, just leave.
Quite frankly, I'm tired of the childish complaints.
But it must be worth it around training camp when all those PHAT STACKZ roll in.
I was also banned a few months ago for I have no idea what reason. Another liberal scalp for Eric's wall? You decide...
I am glad political posts are banned.
Particularly with increasing awareness of CTE, drug abuse, domestic violence, and other ills in which the sport has been implicated, it's hard to discuss football's future without some political context. It's no wonder that football discussion turns political and arouses a certain amount of passion: some of these questions touch the fundamental tensions among freedom, order, and social justice - which have strained the union since at least 1789, and aren't going away any time soon.
If we could keep it civil, BBI would be a great place to discuss these topics, because such diverse views and backgrounds are represented here. As Eric has said, the problem isn't politics per se, but our inability to touch the political third rail without igniting tribal firefights. That's why we can't have nice things.
I love liverwurst > Russia > Cuba > Pepe Silvia
The signs were there all along.
You've not been to BBI Banned Land, have you?
It's wild, man. Like Dante on mesculine. They only way out is to pucker up.
I weep for CiP's soul.

under your assumptions, Big Blue Blogger and Les in Toronto would be gone based on this thread alone.
Now, as Banks said above, we could have chosen to bring the ban hammer down on a number of people here, but I felt this was more of a clear-the-air thread.
Confused? When in doubt, don't get political.
Eric, you are definitely accurate in saying that Les In Toronto and Big Blue Blogger would have been banned based on this thread alone, unless it's okay to talk about "Your Fake President" . People seem to want to have it both ways.
Like I said before, I was wrong in doing what I did, I'm sorry for putting you in the position to need to defend yourself on your own web-site, I'm kinda pissed at myself actually.
Just so you know, I've been coming here longer then most of the people on this thread. I'm not Artie. I was here for; the Matt In Syracuse Osi prediction, Joey In Virginia Fights, GG blowouts, Bill Barilko , Giant Kurt DAYS. LPete was one of my first friends here. I bet I know more about the Giants then most of the people on this thread. When the site did the big overhaul, I lost my handle and came back.
Sorry again for putting you in the bad spot, won't do it again
it's 2017, get with the times. Insults like "durr your boyfriend tee hee" are stupid, overdone, and honestly just archaic at this point. A relic of the old times. There's nothing wrong with being gay, there's definitely gay NFL players, and probably gay users of this site.
It's not clever and you just look like an ass.
It's not about "feelings", it's about human decency. I have many gay friends and none of them deserve to have their sexual orientation be a childish insult that people think is a zinger.
I'm partial to the Pepe Silvia one.
My sis and I love Always Sunny, so I'm getting her this wall art as part of her bday gift next week.
looks dope

The use of "grovel" is actually a quote from ex BBI members most of us would recognize as functional and competent and balanced in most non bbi life challenges.
I make no comments about Erics absolute right to define rules. ( actually agree about a ban on politics).
My comments, if I made them all, would be restricted to application of those rules and attitude. Usually, those are the precursors to an offering which will erode regardless of content improvements ( and imho the site has better content than it ever did pre 2016).
So usually, good business leaders need to carefully examine the attitude and administration by which they produce the customer experience. Even more so if the drive is to enlarge the potential donor pool.

Bill - I am interested to know what you would have us do.
We post policy and rules, we attempt to communicate them, we even start threads about them, and email parties about their violations.
Currently, we ask that suspended posters (and the vast majority of them are repeat violators) to acknowledge that they violated the rules and indicate that they won't do it again.
Each violator is taken on a case by case basis -- and some just acknowledge what they have done and say they won't do it again, and others debate with us our right to suspend them or even what constitutes a violation. The latter are generally unsuccessful in returning.
We are not trying to embarrass anyone - and Modus -- I really don't remember you puckering up - even a little.
I'm not sure what else you would have us do to get the point across and am interested in hearing what else we should be doing for illumination purposes.

I don't go downtown without dinner.
I don't go downtown without dinner.
Doesn't that poke a hole in the accuracy of your statement?

There won't be any hole pokin either.
Now bring some oysters and lobster and we'll see what happens.
Part of it stems from the fact that Ronnie and Phil don't seem to post here any more, and Dune, Bill and Reb seem to post less frequently. But those had some value. I'd like to see away for them to make a return.
Hi gidie
It's hard to discuss what is going on in Saudi Arabia (which is HUGE) without bringing in domestic politics

Hi gidie
Hi Mr Larry
So his clique failed to bring down BBI, eh? Another Philadelphia failure.
Does this mean he'll finally answer my email

I'm impressed Eric has kept this site going as long as he has. He has a lot more patience that I do.

wouldn't blame him if he decided to shutdown this site..and deal with all this constant drama..lol
Much less our politicians or domestic windbags.
Also...current events there are actually likely a sign it's becoming less relevant than the the Kingdom used to be
The least he could do is at least respond to this thread and let everyone know what he did while on on vacation.
Gidie.. are you his parole officer?
Negative coverage is still coverage which makes people in charge do seemingly heavy handed (sorry Jordan) and silly things. It creates a controversy which stirs up a hornets nest which gets people.....talking! Bottom line, this was good for business. It does not have to be sensible.

if that's the case, which no doubt it's the truth, then Eric should allow political posts..thats the mother of all hotbed, click generating, controversial topics ... Boom!
I have no idea whether the ban-hammer has been wielded in a completely fair and balanced way. That seems like an awfully high standard; Eric and the other mods aren't wearing black robes.

the mod team isnt banning people for a couple hundred page views. how absurdly outlandish

Eric - I guess what I am expressing is regret that those threads no longer have legs. Some used to go off the rails and get deleted, but many stayed on the front page for days and had a lot of good commentary. That thread headed for page 2 in an hour or two, and while resurrected once or twice, never got the comments that similar threads in the past got.

So is that why you're here?
