There was even a thread, which I can no longer find, dedicated to this inquiry at one point. But, again, I never saw an explanation and I would very much like to know as he is a long time poster I enjoy reading.

I believe this to be true - and the net result is not a positive for BBI.
They think they can go all scorched earth here and take down BBI. The thing is this: I don't care. This started off in 1995 as a labor of love that eventually turned into a business. But I've always said that once it becomes too emotionally expensive to run, I'm out. I've had a great run with the site and hope to keep it going for another decade, but I can walk away.
So I have nothing to lose by banning children who want to keep testing one of the few rules I have in place. If they somehow sabotage the site, I guess they can enjoy their time at Giants.com or some other Giants website, but that's on them.
But they are not going to pressure me to change the rules by constantly misbehaving and testing me.

It’s not like the account takes up space or prevents others from joining. What’s the point of active removal?
Agree, it is bizarre. I can't imagine going to a site, navigating to the forum, logging in, and then asking to be have my account removed. You aren't getting spam in your email by having an open account. Just go to one of the hundred other sites

Let's face it, the Giants are a New York Team, a big portion of the fan base in the Tri-State area is full of a progressive mentality. They think the world revolves around their feelings and ideas, however, it doesn't.
