Agree, but I get the impression from the ESPN blurb that it is not the team making an official announcement, but a source telling them what is being said behind closed doors. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
they are a bad team that has tuned out their coach. It may not be everyone but it only takes a couple guys to not care or not fear the coach and the team is compromised.
McAdoo is an uninspiring robot with a bad hair cut and no fashion sense. He may understand football on an X and O basis but does not possess and ounce of leadership ability.
He needs to be fired and Spags should take over. It is not going to get better so we might as well move on.
when someone gets inside info, its very fluid. Things can change rather quickly. I'm sure Mac was told yesterday that he was fired and Spags was told that he would be the interim. Then someone reached out to slade who then told all of bbi and then the giants changed their minds and decided to let him coach out the season. It's fluid so don't hold slade to that info.
I’d imagine McAdoo is let go on Monday with Sullivan the interim HC.
yea i cant imagine he makes it out of SF if he loses. Whats the point
I think there is more of a case to keep mcadoo and fire him after the season and fire Reese/Ross now. You want the new front office in place going through all the scouting and potential moves well before the off season.
The Giants indeed have quit on the coach and play like they quit, if Mara will feel pressed to fire McAdoo before the end of the season feeling an obligation to put some kind of product on the field so that paying ticket holders feel they are getting something for their money. Seven games is a long way to go.

I wondered the same and we'll know for sure on Sunday. If they tank, you can only assume it was on purpose.
for rooting for a Giants loss this Sunday? To me, it is the best thing that can happen for the future of this team. This season is lost. Let's at least be bad enough to force some change and position ourselves in the driver seat for the #2 overall pick behind Cleveland.
Hoping that McAdoo’s contract salary will not enter into the decsion Â
Never do as the fans want now if you keep everyone until the end of the season don’t you handicap yourself for the draft? How does a new GM, HC and assume scouting department know who they should draft in such a short time?

"Giants won't make in-season coaching, front-office changes" Â
Have you watched this team operate at all for the last 5-10-15-20-30 years?? Heads will roll?
You haven't been paying attention. How many times do people have to be told that the Giants don't fire coaches mid season? They NEVER fire the GM. They might fire both but it won't happen until January.
Just don't get how people could be surprised by this report. Not to mention the actual validity to any kind of statement like this is questionable as well. How many times does an owner or GM say something only to see that same person do something entirely different days later.

That is a fair point. Firing the gm now would at least position the franchise to get things reset before the offseason. But I still doubt it goes down that way.
They only fire mcadoo now if he's a complete and utter madman. Otherwise they will sack up and let this thing reach its ugly conclusion. Just tank.

Not a bad fan, but I hope you realize that a front office that fucked this team up is likely to fuck up a #1 draft pick, too.
would not fire him now. smh. I would have fired him 3 games ago! This is business and if your not getting the job done, you need to be let go! Pretty simple. Starting to wonder about this franchise, they are their worst enemy..
What I'd really love to know is whether John Mara and/or Steve Tisch are making discreet owner-to-owner inquiries around the league about young front office rising stars who could be promoted to GM of the Giants if the job becomes available. Or if they've very quietly engaged, say, Ernie Accorsi or Bill Parcells to help put together a list of names.
I think it's hysterical that some believe it's related to money Â
If they fire McAdoo in season, they're not bringing in a coach from outside, they're promoting from within, someone they already pay. Net sum of additional salary for relieving McAdoo before the season ends - zero.
There's no point to dumping McAdoo now unless you believe he's doing damage to players who will remain on the roster next year. Short of that, he plays out the string, since there's no benefit to winning games at this point anyway.

John Mara is a sucker.
He would actually win me back over if he did this. It would be incredible.

The guy has done a bad job, but the juvenile attacks on his appearance that have appeared here for the past several weeks are ridiculous.
I don t understand how a fan can take this type of season personally to the point they feel the need to attack a man s appearance.

Lighten up, Francis. I've been taking potshots at Ben since at least be named the HC. More than likely, I also took a few shots at him as OC.
Any reason they might not keep to it? Doesn't seem like it to me.

Why would losing to an 0-9 team be especially embarrassing when you're one game better?
