This anonymous shit makes him a victim. Vets are defending him now, which makes it sound like maybe he's more a victim of circumstance with the injuries and just bad luck.

I pray the FO is actually on top of things.
There is a risk that the owners could decide to fire the players rather than the coach if they become too unruly. As you said, then McAdoo looks like the victim.

They should do that anyway. This roster should be thinned out at every opportunity.
I'm fine with McAdoo and Reese losing their jobs at the end of the season, but the problems don't go away with them. This roster is brutal for a lot of reasons.

IMO if they don't fire his after last week, they shouldn't fire him at all. If he hasn't lost the team based on that, then why expect it to get any worse? It's not clear there are a ton of great options for HC alternatives anyway.

Even if it doesn't get worse and stays the same, that's bad. Really bad.
And they might not have fired him because they will wait until the end of the year.
Have no clue what the HC alternatives comment means.
But sports coverage in general jumped the shark years ago. Speaking of sharks it is a feeding frenzy with mcadoo. It's pathetic and sad.
The saturation has definitely turned me away from the coverage. I haven't listened to a single minute or sports talk or watched any tv coverage other than the games. I'm done with it. I get all my info right here.
But now I just feel sorry for him. I think he is probably a decent guy with a good head for football, and may even make a decent HC someday. But right now he is clearly in way over his head, needs years more of coaching experience, and the team needs to move in a new direction.
That enough is enough. I want him gone, you want him gone, we get it. The outside media market jumping in with unnamed sources is too much. I’m not gonna pile on him anymore.

I don't mean literally they shouldn't fire him. Just, I don't see how it gets any worse than that game. If there is any time to send a message, it's after that game.
I also am not sold on any of the HC names that were thrown out there earlier in the week. Do you have anyone in mind that you like?
I can be completely wrong. But Maybe Momma is advising Eli, and the culture problem was foreshadowing. Maybe Jenkins and DRC know what is happening and have handled things poorly.
Jenkins doesn't seem like an ass. Maybe not gifted expressing himself, but not an ass. Only one on the secondary that raised eyebrows was DRC. Collins seems frustrated he hasn't progressed from last season, and expects more from himself. I see him frustrated, but unsure if he is a leaker or pot stirrer.
Mac should be fired at season's end due to the woeful offensive play and OL tinkering mid season prior to WR injuries. You can see Spags was fired up with the whole anonymous thing. There are some bad Apple's on the D and yes maybe I do smell the worm!
All criticism of Mara, Reese, Ross, McAdoo, and others is absolutely and totally justified considering what is transpiring.
This team has become an absolute disaster.
Only the completely incompetent Browns keep it from being THE WORST team in the entire league just half a dozen years after winning the league championship, and despite the fact that they still have a true franchise QB, the single toughest-to-find component of a competitive team.
The fact is that they have sunk to the point that they can't even put a competitive effort on the field any longer.
That inability to even compete is totally unacceptable from every angle, including consideration of the ability of the league to present competitive contests for their audiences and for the advertisers who pay big money to reach the game attendees, tv viewers, and radio listeners.
The Midgets have now reached the same point they were at when the league "suggested" that they hire George Young as General Manager. Only this time the league commissioner is an equally incompetent boob who is rightfully under fire from many corners.
The defense, which carried us last year, has gotten worn down and frustrated because of the total ineptitude of the offense. OF COURSE they'll complain. The O-line, lousy to start, has broken down and fallen apart, and our receiving corps is a junior varsity version of what it was.
There's not much Vince Lombardi could do at this point.
quit on spags. there were a some (anonymous?) comments about his bad decision-making in the rams game. but mcadoo's offense has looked like garbage for two years in a row, with and without beckham, and that's entirely on him, as with the inexplicable game management decisions that led directly to losses. his approach to the media is embarrassing, but hey, so was coughlin's 2004-2006.
Of course players are going to come out and call Â
Why? He’s an intractable asshole every time he speaks to the media. He’s terrible at his job (based on the results). He throws Eli under the bus as if he’s some bum QB like Ryan Fitzpatrick. When OBJ is on the field with a season ending injury McAdoof can’t be bothered to wander over and say “atta’ boy”. The guy is a total asshole and he’s the head coach of the worst G’aints team in decades. We’re the laughing stock of the NFL and we’re supposed to feel bad for McAdoof? I don’t think so.

that Ben or Jerry are not getting fired. I also think that this is Eli's last year here. Just a hunch.
last week was bad. They need to do a players only meeting and work some crap out.
They could very well lose the rest of the games but if it is perceived as they are trying and the injuries piling up along with Eli not fitting this offense could be their last excuse.
That is why I see them both here next year and I think they will cut Eli loose.

Same here DJM I don't even watch the highlights anymore Â
Again, think it is premature to talk about firing Mac. He had team in playoffs last year. At least three games were winnable, very winnable. Team could have been 3-4 or even 4-3 and they wouldn't be thinking about firing Mac.
Think there is an issue w/personnel. But what role does Chris Mara play? Is he getting fired? They definitely need to invest in OL scouts. Poor correlation between round drafted and return on investment. And, it is fair to ask - do we have right OL coach? I don't know answer to that.

Since players have begun trashing him to the press, it's now starting to look like he's completely lost.

Or his mother????

This week might seem calm.
These guys are covering up because new and old coaches are watching and they don’t want to be labeled quitters .

The way the players are acting is a product of poor leadership. It starts at the top.
This organization needs to clean House Reese to Mac to
the janitor .
