..local place in Deerfield Beach, FL down the street from me a little. There’s a few of them. They make this Maple Bacon donut that will change your life.
Worlds Fair Donuts in St Louis. Made by an ancient couple who look like they havent left the shop in 70yrs.
Union Sqr Donuts in Somervill, MA. They use Potato flour, and it gives the donuts a chew that is out of this world. GEt the maple bacon glazed. Thank me later
Jelly donut from Dunkin Donuts is my go to but the Boston cream is dry solid second place. However, if the donuts aren’t fresh they aren’t worth eating. Big difference between fresh and stale in just a couple of hours.

I heard the Deerfield one closed, but there is still the pompano one off of Atlantic.
Try out Jupiter donuts as well - they have one off Congress and gateway (?) I think.
Place here in Delray everyone loves callee Nani's but I can't bring myself to spending $5 per donut.
If you are ever in Maine (Wells) just over the boarder it's Congdon Donuts. You will find it on all the sites ranking donuts. Trust me worth your while whatever you like. You will buy multiple dozens to go. I have fun here a lot but I am as serious as a Heart Attack.
Allentown, the best I ever had. Speaking of, I have two I have to go eat.
I have always wanted to try it. Right by the Farmers Market, right??
A lot of good bakeries in Catasaqua and Emmaus.
I haven't tried Egypt Star yet.
Yeah it's up the road from the Fairgrounds. You gotta get there early though, most of their stock is gone by noon. I've never had a more fresh donut before. I haven't tried Egypt Star yet. Speaking of, I recommend Tony's Top Hat in Catty. $1 tacos on Tuesday's.

I only live 5 minutes from there now. Will definitely have to try it out. I was going to mention that tonight because we were looking for something new. We go to Bethlehem a lot, Tapas on Main and McCarthy's are one of our favorites. Ended up going to Kutztown Tavern. Is Premise Maid ice cream open for the winter?

Yep. Premise Maid is all year.
If you're 5 mns from The Shelby, there's great Chinese takeout nearby called Mr. Wonton. Very fresh.
Ktown tavern has good beer and food. Good choice.
Second Federal Doughnuts in Philly and Doughnut Plant in NYC Â
As far as chains people may have heard of, fractured prune in Maryland and duck donuts in NC are awesome as well.
Union Sqr Donuts in Somervill, MA. They use Potato flour, and it gives the donuts a chew that is out of this world. GEt the maple bacon glazed. Thank me later
Others I like include Gibson's in Memphis (A favorite of Alton Brown) and Shipley's.
Haven't tried any franchises, but the OBX one is incredible.
The Holy Donut in Portland, Maine. They make them potato based and are amazing.
Tough to have any others when compared to those two places.
I heard the Deerfield one closed, but there is still the pompano one off of Atlantic.

Gibson's is killer.
There's also a place in Houston area. Chain.. Shipleys. Delicious.

Everything else is fake news
Most local donut shops are good and better than the chains.
I will say Toronto in my recollection is the best donut town I remember offhand. Great local spots.
