Others I like include Gibson's in Memphis (A favorite of Alton Brown) and Shipley's.

Jelly donut from Dunkin Donuts is my go to but the Boston cream is dry solid second place. However, if the donuts aren’t fresh they aren’t worth eating. Big difference between fresh and stale in just a couple of hours.

I heard the Deerfield one closed, but there is still the pompano one off of Atlantic.

Try out Jupiter donuts as well - they have one off Congress and gateway (?) I think.

Place here in Delray everyone loves callee Nani's but I can't bring myself to spending $5 per donut.

If you are ever in Maine (Wells) just over the boarder it's Congdon Donuts. You will find it on all the sites ranking donuts. Trust me worth your while whatever you like. You will buy multiple dozens to go. I have fun here a lot but I am as serious as a Heart Attack.

I have stopped at quite a few local donut shops. Many of them pretty good. Cannot even remember their names. Better than the chains
Shipley
hassan : 11/11/2017 2:51 pm : link
Is damn good for a chain. Krispy Kreme is good. Way better than Dunkin the worst of the bunch. Too much bread in a dunkin donut.

Most local donut shops are good and better than the chains.

I will say Toronto in my recollection is the best donut town I remember offhand. Great local spots.

I only live 5 minutes from there now. Will definitely have to try it out. I was going to mention that tonight because we were looking for something new. We go to Bethlehem a lot, Tapas on Main and McCarthy's are one of our favorites. Ended up going to Kutztown Tavern. Is Premise Maid ice cream open for the winter?

Yep. Premise Maid is all year.

If you're 5 mns from The Shelby, there's great Chinese takeout nearby called Mr. Wonton. Very fresh.

Ktown tavern has good beer and food. Good choice.

As far as the big chains go, Krispy Kreme glazed fresh out of the oven. In fact, it's a toss between the three.
