NFT: Yanks Talk- Sheffield leaves game yesterday...

BC Eagles94 : 11/12/2017 8:23 am
in AFL after taking a comebacker in his leg. Hopefully he is OK. When I first saw box score, I knew there was an injury and got nervous. This shouldnt be a big deal, not arm related or anything.

All prospects have looked good in AFL so far. Estrada, McKinney, Holder and Florial all hitting. Sheffield and Carroll have been pitching well too.
I can't wait for next season! I would expect our young guns

should be even better, with a year behind them. And then there's Torres, who should make his debut at the major league level, and a potent bunch of others just behind him! It's exciting as it is, but if they can get Otani too, it will feel like Christmas morning, when you were a kid.
I am worried about our manager

A bad manager can have a hugely negative impact on young players.

Young players need to show that they are consistent players and not one year wonders.

Sanchez needs to spend offseason working on defense.
Judge on better pitch recognition.
are Sanchez and Judge

Why would they? they just finished a full season at the major league level. They're not rookies anymore. No need to play winter ball

Jeezus. Step off the ledge, man. Enjoy these times and stop worrying so damn much. This is a great time to be a Yankees fan.

This has to be a troll-like comment. You want a player who will likely be the AL rookie of the year and either MVP or runner up to play winter ball?

Established MLB players do not go to winter ball. They rest their bodies for the grueling 162 game season and spring training that starts in just three months.
Cody Carroll is interesting

He's another rising guy with nasty stuff out of the pen. He'll probably start the season as a top guy in the AAA Scranton bullpen, but he should be ready to for the call pretty fast. Can't help but think there is a trade or two coming with all the relief depth and the 40-man roster crunch coming. The Yanks have a lot of flexibility. Brian Cashman is sitting at the table with a nice stack of chips. I am interested to see what he does.
As far as manager goes

I'd offer the job to our AAA manager who has experience in our system and familiarity with our young players.
