An interesting question...

SethFromAstoria : 11/12/2017 7:08 pm
I think to state the obvious you want to see everyone play hard and try. However lets say the players all feel like their head coach is lost and would be a detriment to their careers and the team because they would have no chance to win with him.... Yet if they play hard and win 5 games then they have a 5-11 record but hey the players tried so the coach sticks around....
Question is not whether it's disgusting to watch, especially because you know some guys do try. But how do you play for a guy you want to never play for again. Sure they are pros..... They need to try. But they are also proven to be able to do a good job and you know they tried early in the season yet still were a joke. How do they deal with not wanting to play for a coach they have no faith in?
I think it's part apathy as mentioned on telecast

They think they'll stay somewhere in the league, if not on this "team." Very, very few of these players are worth keeping around -- anywhere.

I mean which is more likely... They were good last year because they were experienced and proven and a young player came into his own? Or they all just are the worst players all playing at once in the same team. And last year was luck.

What's interesting I think is that the d early in the year was badly affected by the abysmal mismanagement of the offense. There were no sustained drives, terrible field positions etc...

You're not going to have an elite secondary who helped a d finish as one of the best with minimal pass rush and bad linebackers and say these guys are bad players. This is simply players who decided to mutiny because they wouldn't want to even consider playing for the guy next year. I'd be shocked if mote than one is cut.
If they quit on McAdoo, they are quitters and should be fired

"I don't like the coach" is not an acceptable excuse.

If I were John Mara I would cut Jenkins before the flight back to NJ.

That would be an emotional, horrible, business decision.

Cutting him would be, but benching him and JPP for next week would be appropriate. They’re half assing it and we’re losing anyway, let some kids who are desperate for playing time get the chance

Don’t have a problem with that, but Snacks, Vernon, and Jenkins are the foundation of the defense going forward, for better or worse. We’re also stuck with JPP.

This organization needs a competent FO and coaching staff who can get the most out of these guys. We saw their potential last year.
