I played against Jared Goff and Robert Woods i two leagues.
I swear you can look at who I'm playing each week and the overlap is who will go off.
One guy (our last place team) only even played them because Derek Carr and Alshon Jeffery were on bye. his highest point total of the year by about 50 points.
still will be tied for first in that league and in the hunt in my other two leagues, but man it's frustrating.
I've been decimated by injuries (David Johnson, Allen Robinson, Tyler Eifert, Ty Montgomery all missing significant time or on IR). Cam Newton is always on the injury report and under performing, and my backup is Eli... Yet, somehow I'm 6-3 and about to go to 7-3. It just proves how much luck plays into fantasy football. I've been pretty lucky to be in low scoring matchups almost every week.
At the right time. I'm up 55 and I still have Kenyan Drake. This will be 3 wins in a row. My league you get bonus points for TDs over 40 yards. So Woods had 38 points and Cousins had 28. I'm really liking my roster for a playoff run. We play with a RB/WR flex and a WR/TE flex.
QB - Cousins
RB - Bell, Mixon, Kenyan Drake, Matt Breida, Chris Ivory, Danny Woodhead
WR - Tyreek Hill, Cooks, Woods, Kenny Golladay & Pryor
TE - Engram, Henry & Charles Clay
D - Lions
K - Succop
I do not have a drop candidate really on my roster. It's a 5 keeper league. Standard scoring and I'm down by a shade under 10 points going into MNF. My opponent has no players left to play. I have Kenyan Drake.
Yes, I could win with Kenyan Drake. But here is how it gets interesting: I have Jake Elliott as my kicker and he is on bye. Cody Parkey is available on the free agents list. I can drop Elliott for Parkey and nearly assure myself of a victory...Drake + Parkey is very likely to get 10 points.
However, I will lose Elliott, as there will be some knucklehead in my league that will likely add him via waivers. I have a pretty good waiver priority, but I won't use it for a kicker. I can certainly stream the kicker position for the rest of the season I suppose, but man, losing Elliott would be something I just would prefer not to do.
How important is this win to me? I am currently tied via record for the last playoff spot at 5-4 with two other teams. The two teams I am tied with are playing each other, so one of them will be a game up on me for sure if I lose. There are two teams a game back...those teams are also playing each other, so one of them will certainly improve to 5-5 and be tied with me and the loser of the aforementioned game should I lose.
Would you drop Elliott for Parkey or roll the dice with Drake that he'll get me 10 points tonight on his own, and keep Jake Elliott? See? That's a quagmire.

no brainer, take the win now, kickers are sort of random anyway.
hasn't scored less than 10 points in any game so far so I would keep Elliot
he has Drake. You do whatever you can to get a win, a kicker is a kicker and its almost winter in Philly. I wouldn't care about losing him if it meant a win now.
He has Cam Newton and I have Kenyan Drake, it’s PPR. What you guys think, I pull it out or no?
This could already be way over if 1. Didn’t start Marvin Jones Jr. we serious with 1 red 22 yards, the Lions strategy of not getting him involved more is why that game was closer then it needed to be, hopefully they see that Golladay is a stiff. In the meantime I only got a 3.20 for points.
I could have started Davante Parker or Devin Funchess instead, but he was so highly ranked this week in all these so- called fantasy “experts” lists that I thought it would be nuts not to go with him. More on dis later.
This also could have already been over if I started Dion Lewis over Alfred Morris, would be 12 more points, O well. The only one who can stop Dion Lewis is Belicheck, guy is ridiculous , with apologies to Rex Burkehead , Dion needs to be out there. He got smart on Gillislie , given his history , burkehead will probably get hurt anyway.
Ok, my item of the week, we are ignoring experts lists or compiled lists. These guys get all caught up in what players they like, then forget to actually think about how the game is going to be played.
My 8-1 team is going to get to 9-1.... awful showing for my team in the BBI league, though. And I'm going to lose in my 3rd league as well.
No Hunt and Kelce this week was tough to survive after losing Watson. Hilton continues to have one of the most boom or bust seasons ever... either it's a monster game or a complete dud. Literally zero in between. Hilton either puts up under 5 fantasy points or over 20-25.
Who would you guys rather have for a standard scoring league? Â
Won this week in a blow out (over 130 points). My opponent has 48 with 2 RBs to go. I need it because I am in 7th place (mostly due to lack of points early in the season), but was tied in wins for 2nd place (5-4).
I went off this week with Goff, Thielen, Ingraham at QB, WR and RB. Add in Engram at TE and I think I have a strong team.

Also, Parker has only played in 3 games and in our scoring, 1 pt per 10 yards and 6 pts for a TD, he has eclipsed 10 points once. I think I have to pick up Parkey. I really hope I don't lose Elliot over it, though. I may have to swing a trade if I do and give up a real asset to get Zuerlein if that happens.
Get every Chiefs player you can. I realize Alex Smith, Kielce and Tyreek are probably owned unless your in a league with bozos. But WRs Albert Wilson, De’Anthony Thomas, and Demarcus Robinson should be considered. Should be plenty of points to be had.
RE: Who would you guys rather have for a standard scoring league? Â
For me it would be Woods. Just more scoring opportunities on a much more explosive offense. But I do expect Shepard to be a great PPR asset for the remainder of the season.
I certainly shouldn't have kept Antonio Brown with my 1st round pick. Though in redraft leagues like ours, there aren't many great players available in the first rounds anyway -- they're all kept.
I cannot fathom that not wanting to drop a kicker has even put you in the position to begin with. Kickers are interchangeable and every week pretty easy to find a matchup that will score you 10+.
I cant believe that to save a kicker you went into tonight punting the position. It baffles me.
Obviously you drop the Kicker to go pick up a kicker that lucky for you still plays tonight.
As anyone with Greg Zeurlein knows for sure. Jake Elliott has been the second best kicker in fantasy. Teams that ignore the kicker position are handicapping their team...it is something that cannot be taken lightly if you are wanting to compete for a championship.
I let go of Elliott because the win was crucial, and I didn't have faith in Parker getting me there. But am I concerned that I may not get Elliott back, and I may have weakened my team significantly by not having a top tier kicker? Yes. Having a stud at kicker is an enormous advantage in fantasy, only amateurs think otherwise.

Lost by 1.7 points.

It's Parker I need 10 points from, not Drake. I do need a good performance from Drake to win in other leagues.
Thats odd, seems like your kind of weekend.
GOT EEM!
