I like Neer, and actually remember him from the days of WNEW-FM. He's knowledgeable but not bombastic enough for weekday afternoons.
Just saw this. I'm done with FAN in the afternoon. 3 in the booth, think ESPN Sunday night baseball. Unlistenable.
My original idea of Max Kellerman and Kim Jones would have been great. Carlin and Jones would have been okay too. This will be a disaster. Mike Francesa to be replaced by Chris Carlin, Bart Scott and Maggie Gray for new WFAN afternoon drive team: sources - ( New Window )

JFC neer is the auditory equivalent of watching paint dry. I have never heard something so boring in my life, and would have a visceral reaction of dissapointment when I would turn on the FAN on the weekends and have to listen to his boring ass show/voice.

Good question re Kellerman. Article says he was offered the job but declined. Maybe because of the 3 man format?

He's not bombastic enough for 7 AM on a Saturday and talks nothing more else besides baseball. Also, his voice is sleep inducing, and hit in a home-y, cozy, Schmooze/Sommers way

I think you're right. 3 in a booth is unworkable. The 3 they have chosen will make it more so.
