Headley will be benched by the all star break if not sooner. Torres might be the starting 3B on opening day if he has a spring like last year.

will likely take over at 3B at some point during the season, though very unlikely during spring training. Long term its second base for him. He's got a middle infield worthy glove. Higher value there.

He's a plus glove, plus speed, OPS in AAA was .840 and LH which they could use more of. If nothing else he should replace Torreyes as the utility because he can play some OF too

He would fit the "post hype prospect" model of Didi and Hicks but is a bigger fish than those two guys.

preferably a catcher to put in the pipeline. Torres, Wade, Torreyes and Estrada should be give a chance in spring training to play 2B and 3B. Todd Frazier was a great pick up last season, but he makes no sense right now. The Yanks are loaded with young infielders and if you are going to invest in a free agent, wait a year for Machado. Headley is signed for one more year. He starts the year as the 3B and Wade, Torres and Andujar get reps to see if one is ready to step in. If Torres grabs the 2B job and Andujar eventually takes over at 3B...great. Headley then becomes the veteran, switch hitting backup 1B/3B/DH. If not, the Yanks will have re-set the luxury tax and they can make a run at Machado after 2018.

doesn't the same apply to Machado and Camden Yard? Looks to me his home stats look a lot better then those road stats. Maybe I am looking at it wrong but worth investigating

Hicks is cautiously working out, Ackley, not so much. Profar might be a nice lottery ticket if you can him on the cheap for some depth prospects.

The Rangers are still going to want a haul for him. It would not be cheap. They aren’t going to give him away
