Rashaad Penny..RB..San Diego State

1st and 10 : 11/15/2017 5:55 am
1,600 yards this year in 10 games at over 7 ypc, had 1,000 plus last year behind Pumphrey (who had 2,000) and he weighs 220.

For those that have seen him, what are your thoughts on him? What round would you expect him to go and is he a good fit for us?

I have no seen him play at all this year. What about Bryce Love from Stanford? He has looked really solid all year. But I do not think this team needs to draft a running back right now. We have more concerns right now. And we have Odell as our major offensive weapon. We should be focusing more on the infrastructure (QB, OL and Linebackers) than skill players.

having more pressing needs, but he is not talked about when you mention the best RB's in this draft. I think he might be had later in the draft and from what I have read, he has a good combination of size and speed and has been known to break tackles. He can also return kicks.
So if

he's solid but not spectacular, not in the discussion of best RBs in the country, and a later-round pick...he's Perkins and Gallman all over again(?) Seriously, let's ride with those two for a bit and use our picks judiciously.

I would naturally question his ability to play at the next level. Pumphrey put up better production in the same system and the only reason he made the roster in Philly was because he was a 4th round pick.
Rashad is deceptively fast and has power.

Great returner on specials, can catch the ball. He would be a great fit on this team and would be a steal in the 4th round. Playing behind a young line of underclassmen. Pumphrey had a better line and is shifty. San Diego St. is deep in RB depth and runs a pro-style offense. Old school, pure ground and pound. The backup Juwan Washington is also a player to keep an eye on. Penny is worth consideration in the 3rd round, dependent on combine/pro-day results.

Same school, completely different backs. Rushed for 1,000 yards last year behind Pumphrey. He’s a lot bigger, his game will translate well. Hits the hole extremely hard. I’d like him in blue personally.
