Talent evaluation is incredibly difficult. Whole point of The Process was to get a lot of shots at unearthing a truly generational player. Sam found two.

That's the most succinct way to put it. Embiid and Simmons have the chance to go down as HOF-type players. Hinkie apparently wanted Porzingis over Okafor, too. Fultz has a bum shoulder, so if he can get healthy, he has a chance to be another weapon-- he will certainly be an asset for trades as other teams will want to give the #1 pick every chance to succeed, plus young guys like Saric who can already score (despite struggling this season). And with a Simmons-Embiid combo, it will certainly lead to highly-coveted free agent wings and 2-guards who will want to join the team.
I hate all Philly teams, but loved what Hinkie did and wished the Knicks were the ones taking that approach.
Has Philly won anything yet? No, but the point is to try and build a franchise into a title contender, and by the looks of things, there are only a handful of teams in the league who I think could win a championship with their current core pieces, and Philly is one of them.

Paul, good post.
I just don't like the way they did it.......purposely being bad for such a long stretch.
But in the NBA, maybe that's the only way to do it?
But it's obviously worked out well for them. Both Embiid & Simmons are going to be superstars, health provided. We don't know about Fultz, but Philly is going to be a force before too long.
But I still like his talent. Once he gets his shot going he will be ok, so far his shot has been poor despite being a good long ball shooter at UCLA. Dont like Walton benching him in the 4th, let him get the reps when the game is on the line.

I think Simmons arguably will be the best player in the game the moment he develops a shot, he is that good right now.
He is a freak, but depending on the truthfulness of what has been written about his work ethic, he may never develop that shot.

Shooting in college is way different than shooting in the NBA.
1. You have less time to get the shot off
2. The 3 point shots are longer
3. Your release has to be high
Man, that was ugly. I know that any player can have a video package of lowlights but that was different. He just looks lost and dejected out there. And I even watched a few different videos of that garbage.
Lol... future all-star. Just wait.
He's a superstar. Crazy talent. He can shoot. Pass. Lead. Complete package.
When the backup PG is doing this to you, it keeps your ass on the bench in the 4th. And it looked even worse from other angles on the replay.
There is an tall rookie PG who will be a superstar in this game. But its clear as day he isn't on the Lakers.
LA has a few good young players, Ball isn't one of them.
If he can stay healthy, the East is going to be bananas.
15 rebounds
7 blocks
7 assists
1 Julius Randle soul taken
2 points.
Pretty impressive.

Outplayed by backups again. Brick Building Brand
15 rebounds
7 blocks
7 assists
1 Julius Randle soul taken
Holy fuck, that's a stat line.
If he stays healthy...

True, but at least it might make him work a little bit to get it there.

How many minutes ? PER 48 those numbers explode...
Embiid is the best big man in the game hands down, WHEN HE IS ON THE COURT

Safe vote has to go to Antetokounmpo.

2. Ball has one of the ugliest shots I have ever seen.
