I think most people are. But defending guy who beats the shit out of his girlfriend isn't the right hill to die on. There are many righteous things to kill Goodell over. The fact that skeletor picks the EE angle tells you all you need to know.

take away his single(cowboys only) merchandising/marketing agreements and funnel that money back to players.
Remove cowboys from NFC EAST.Put them in NFC south See how america's team does playing those teams 2X year. Watch value drop weekly.

By "with him on the Goodell thing", you agree that Jones and the other owners should approve his compensation after they all agreed earlier this year to delegate it to the Compensation Committee?
I dont agree with Jones at all on this. It absolutely is revenge for the Elliot suspension. Now, if you want to debate the salary, perks, etc that Goodell will get in this extension, then thats with the CC to debate.

Even though the contract demands may be high, the owners already agreed that the committee should negotiate it. Jones might have a better case if he'd gotten other owners to join him in a lawsuit. No leg to stand on in this case, imo. Definitely room for a fine. A suspension would be very tricky to enforce where he's the GM as well as the owner, especially where his son is actively involved as well.

Goodell is not getting what he asked for. In contract negotiations you always start high, because you can't ask for more than your starting point.
He may get a pay raise, but not $50 mill. He's not getting the plane, but maybe an annual allowance for "X" years for travel. He may get health insurance, but that is a throw away or maybe he is allowed to buy into the NFL plan.
