Sure it has flaws and most of the dialogue seemed forced. The villain was meh.

its a step above BvS and waaayyy above SS. 2 steps below WW.
If you're saying it was "great" yet a step above BvS, does that mean you think that BvS was good?
I'm a huge Marvel movie fan. The way DC has gone about building their movie universe and the actual movies themselves has been disappointing and many steps behind Marvel.
I was really into the Nolan Batman films, so it has nothing to do with the properties and everything to do with the films that Zack Snyder has made. They are lacking in too many areas for me to just turn my brain off and enjoy.

I agree! I got the feeling Marvel set the bar and in order to cash in and/or rival Marvel, Dc tried to churn out their own films. Sadly, they are not anywhere near the movies that Marvel is putting out.
Why does there have to be humor in comic book films?! Logan was one of the most depressing films I've ever seen and it has a 93% rating on RT! Yet the DCEU routinely gets bashed for not incorporating humor.
Why does DC HAVE to compete with Marvel? Why can't we all just enjoy each movie/ series independent of company?
There were so many plot holes in Captain America: Civil War, yet it was critically acclaimed. Why? Because it's Marvel!
Spider-Man: Homecoming...second reboot and the THIRD origins film in the last 15 years....92%.
They needed a solid plan early and whoever thought Zack Snyder, the man who ruined the Watchmen, should helm it should be smacked. Marvel deserves the accolades they get. They have put out consistently good movies and frankly have done with former B to C list heroes. The avengers weren't popular for about 30 years until Iron Man came out. He wasn't exactly a popular figure at the time and neither was the rest of the crew save the Hulk. Even Doctor Strange put a lot of butts in the seats. DC has their A team and still produces sub par movies(the excellent Nolan series and WW excluded). What a waste.

Film critics are just as bad as politicians.
You sounds pretty biased yourself. The DC movies have been pathetic, I don't see why its hard to believe the Marvel movies are more highly regarded.
Unless I heard outstanding reviews was going to wait for on demand Â

Make it simple, forget Marvel exists - are the DC movies good? Wonder Woman was for sure, outside of that, maybe Batman Begins?
You sounds pretty biased yourself. The DC movies have been pathetic, I don't see why its hard to believe the Marvel movies are more highly regarded.
I've seen every movie from the MCU.
I have almost all of them on Blu-ray.
So, you can't take the bias statement back.
I just pointed out multiple flaws with Marvel films...which you conveniently ignored.
Have you seen The Amazing Spider Man 2? Have you seen that steaming pile of garbage? Which at 52% is rated higher than Justice League. I mean, they didn't even bother to make a third film...and no one even cared! But 52% of critics think it was a good movie!
It looked like a turd from the trailers. The only recent movie of this type that looked bad from the trailers only to be awesome was guardians of the galaxy.
Kinda getting sick of the super hero movies. This coming from someone who loved them 3 years ago.
Make it simple, forget Marvel exists - are the DC movies good? Wonder Woman was for sure, outside of that, maybe Batman Begins?
Wait...since you mentioned Batman Begins, are you implying that the Dark Knight/ Rises were bad films?! REALLY?!
I can't really continue on this topic with you then.
But I digress, that's not the point. My original point is that Marvel is seen through rose-colored glasses by critics.
Age of Ultron was kind of a trainwreck, but it's still a "certified fresh" film?

Competition is the American way bro! There is a reason that both companies have super heroes that are virtually the same, but named differently.
I'm shocked the first one wasn't similarly low as I thought that was awful too. Anyhow I think The Amazing SpiderMan 2's crap score is indicative of a lack of bias for Marvel. There's been a ton of crappy Marvel movies both critically and commercially; the amazing spiderman, daredevil, punisher, elektra, the fantastic four, ghost rider, a couple of the xmen films, etc... It's Marvel Studios that gets the accolades which for the most part I think is deserved.

No bias here, I don’t really like any of these movies. Last I saw was Doctor Strange. Not really here to debate the intricacies of each film. But DC has a bad track record that they earned. And Wonder Woman’s was praised, by the way, so I don’t understand why you are mad. If you don’t like a review, don’t read it.
RE: RE: RE: I'm done with critics and their bias Â

This, his original point, is definitely true. Regardless of how good or bad DC movies turn out to be, they will never get a fair shake from critics, which trickles down to fans.
I firmly believe that if these exact same movies had the Marvel name attached to it rather than DC, they’d be looked at much more favorably if not critically praised. I have no doubt.

That's ridiculous. Wonder Woman got a 92%, despite the fact that the villain stunk and the ending was a mess. Where was the bias there?
The MCU movies, by and large, have interesting characters, good writing, decent plots and good effects. They are, for the most part, light, fun and a decent way to kill a couple hours.
The DC movies, with the exception of Wonder Woman, have been poorly done and not a lot of fun to watch. MOS was OK. BVS was overlong and boring. Suicide Squad was one the biggest pieces of shit I've ever seen.
DC needs to find a way to right the ship. The Snyder influence was really damaged their franchise. I'm hoping the next batch of solo films are better, because I do love the characters.
I thought WW was over-hyped. I wasn't a big fan. I didn't really like Suicide Squad.
On the other side, I didn't like the new Spiderman at all. I like Thor but no way do I put it up there with the first Ironman. I like both Guardian of the Galaxy movies more than the new Thor.
Still, Marvel is far and away just a better product. These new DC movies just don't do anything for me. Part if it, and I have mentioned this before, is that you know these are all filmed in a studio like 300. Everybody seemed to love 300. I didn't like it all that much. It felt like a couple of actors on screen where everything else was computer generated. The backgrounds suck in the DC movies. At least with Thor you feel like you are in another world. With these DC movies it just feels like you are in a box.

I really don’t think these Snyderverse movies have been good at all. WW was a breath of fresh air, but even that one wasn’t exceptional. Just exceptional among DC movies since they’ve all been pretty mediocre.

maybe it’s not a case of bias. Maybe it’s that Marvel knows it can put out movies that even the people who think that they are piles of garbage will run out to get their blu-rays?
Why does there have to be humor in comic book films?! Logan was one of the most depressing films I've ever seen and it has a 93% rating on RT! Yet the DCEU routinely gets bashed for not incorporating humor.
.
They don't necessarily mean slapstick or jokes. Logan still had wit and charisma and didn't feel like it was confined to a garage, unlike the DC movies I've seen.
Also, Amazing Spider-Man 2 was't part of the MCU Â
that are subjective. They watch a movie, they come out and say "that movie sucked" or "the movie looks like garbage" or "not at all entertaining". Sure... to YOU. To many others, however, it could have been awesome, fun, and/or well worth the cost of admission.
Too much hyperbole these days. Too many people can't come out and just say "I didn't like it because of this:" and then outline the reasons.
And this isn't to bash anyone in particular in this thread, just a general observation of reactions to the whole Marvel vs DC movies. I do agree with the notion that it seems to become trendy to blindly bash DC movies before giving them a chance.
RE: Never liked how people gave their opinions on things Â
Woman, I hate to say it but Justice League wasn’t very good. I’d give it maybe a 6/10. The first act was extremely slow, a lot of the reshoots were obvious because the CGI was poorly done, and the story was as generic as it comes. The third act was exciting, and I thought the performances of the individual characters were great, but there was just something missing. Maybe that’s what happens when the studio comes in and forces almost 40 minutes to be cut from the run time?
I thought Cyborg and Flash stole the show, and they finally got Superman right. There was enough there (the post credits scene included) to make me excited about what is to come. I think with Zack Snyder finally out of the mix we can start to be optimistic about the future of the DC franchise.
Because the title character is female.
This is the first MCU/DCEU feature film based purely on a female character.
Not to get into the politics of Hollywood, but there is no way Hollywood is going to suppress that.

Who watches any of these films and expects to gain a higher IQ?
I would complain about the horrifically depressive nature of Logan long before I berate BvS for it's lack of funnies.
We ingest and accept as normal that an alien is fighting a man dressed in a bat-suit, while another human is genetically engineering an alien monster...

The problem these days are that films have forced agendas that are simply profit based on emotion of a demographic. In the end they do not look natural or aligned. They also probably though HRC would be in office and it will be interesting to see if it continues. As an example, that last Thor film had a chance to be great, but they fucked it up with dumb humor (Guardians) that does match the seriousness of the reality in context, or some grandstanding with forced female assertions that do not seem credible. That english actress was convincing however and she used her craft to avoid looking silly which is why she got paid and covered for the garbage fill time of "throwing a bone to some targeted audience"
Let's work politics into a discussion about mindless comic book movies Â
it was good and very enjoyable. The openning scene is perfect Batman and finally showing just how awesome and unmatched Supermans power is was great. All the characters are likeable and I am excited for the follow up Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman movies to dive deeper.

Yeah, me neither. I'm just looking for a film that isn't the cinematic equivalent of nu metal.

Criticism on content is all well and good until you start seeing ghosts that a mass appeal intended studio blockbuster popcorn movie is trying to spin a political narrative.

Ha! You must not have any clue what good writing is.
The Dark Knight and Rises are the most overrated films of the past 30 years. Plot holes you could drive the fucking Batmobile through. It's about a man that dresses like a bat, but we need it to be "realistic"? Then they write scripts that are completely illogical, and call it "realistic"?
Good performances by Ledger, Hardy, and Oldman, but trash writing. Pandering to millenials with dark, and gritty garbage.
I am sure I will love it.
