to have Parcells help with the likely housecleaning and re-staffing. But I doubt he has the desire or the energy to be a full-time GM. He's 76. He's smart and insightful, and might be a great consultant, but I can't believe he's willing to take on all the tasks a GM has to accomplish day-in/day-out.
They need to get a non-Mara in the decision making and Parcells could help.
If you've seen Parcells lately, he is really aged. He can't handle day to day stuff and really wasn't great at it in his last go round in Miami.
He should absolutely be part of a team assembled TODAY to fix the issue. My thoughts are that a team of Accorsi, Gettleman and Parcells should be hired now to select a GM and coaching candidates.
I'd fire Reese and McAdoo immediately and maybe even Spags. One of the three, I mentioned, should be a fixture at practices and on the sideline gamedays to determine who the cancers are.
McAdoo has lost the team and the only reason not to make a change would be that an interim coach would only be that so there is a concern that he wouldn't have any more success than McAdoo. Inserting Parcells on the sideline just as eyes on the ground would put the players on notice that they may be shown the door also.
...that is not, nor ever has been associated with the NY Giants. They need a real objective, non-brainwashed person in there so say...hey. this franchise is a damn freakin mess and I will clean the manure out.
Is interesting. I know he grew up being a fan of the Giants so I can only believe he would want the best for his childhood team. I can also assume he has a good relationship with Mara and Tisch.
The part that could be interesting to me would be whether he would select a offensive or defensive minded coach. I am not a big fan of the west coast offense or the read option and I think the pro set offense still has a place in today's game. I also think that it maybe a good idea to move to the 3-4 defense. Bill Parcells was the LB coach before being a DC or HC and I think it would be great to bring back a strong attacking defense with a load of pass rushers. I would hope Bill would see this as the biggest need on NYG. Hire a defensive minded coach who believes in the 3-4.
The GM selection obviously would need to happen before but I think making this team a more physical team with the O Line and the defensive front 7 is the way Mara/Tisch need to go. Giants football

want to bring back people from the past? They want to bring back players that played for the team after they are washed up and coaches that have been out of the game for years.
I am thankful for the two Super Bowls under Parcells and the fact that he had a sustained period of really good teams in the '80s. However, he tried to defect to the Falcons right after the first SB victory and then left the team in a bad spot when he actually did leave. Fuck Parcells.

Age...and would want what they wouldn't give him the first time....shopping for the groceries without owners(ok..Mara family) having their hand on which store...which brand...
But if the hired him...or Tom Moore...or some other respected outsider...and implemented and not just listened to...the recommendations ...it'd be a good thing.

They are also Mortally afraid of change. Well their way has resulting in years of bad football w last years totally lopsided team fooling them.
We will see if one or two wins and a total Collapse wakes them up. They need a total new set of eyes and voices in their organization.
