Am fortunate enough that our employment pays for both my and my wife’s phones with unlimited data. Currently have our teenage kids on a shared data plan for a year now, but they have been bugging me for unlimited plans. My son streams a lot of videos on YouTube (guitar and video game stuff), while my daughter is mainly a social media person. Somehow they still run through 12G per month. They don’t use tablets, just their phones (Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7). Is there really a big difference with Beyond Unlimited? Has anyone really noticed a significant reduction in speed during congested times with Go Unlimited? Is there a big, noticable difference between DVD and HD video streaming? Thanks.
On Go, it’s as if each phone has already used 22GB of data... so, you will have high speeds 4G LTE, unless you are on a congested network... this doesn’t normally happen, but large cities and metropolitans can be affected...
There is a difference on streaming as well... Beyond streams video at a certain quality, while GO streams at a lower quality.. not sure if the average consumer can tell the difference
or combined?
if 12GB each something is wrong, are their phones set up to use wi-fi when they can connect to wi-fi vs cell data?
if 12GB combined still sounds like a lot unless they stream netflix (or youtube or equivalent) 24/7
We have a 30GB family plan for 5 of us, I use family base and give my 15 year old twins 7 GB per month each and they never hit it. I also restrict their data access and turn it off each week night from 10pm to 5 am.
We routinely come in under the 30 GB, but it's the most economical plan.
anyway, no specific answer to your question other than surprised they use so much data.
I having been doing that and I haven't had close to a problem since...
