Let's pray we get the #1. Cleveland needs to win 1 or 2 games.
The Giants will be in a position to draft a franchise QB with only Cleveland in front of them, and it will be the year the fucking Browns finally pick right.

Darnold won't come out if Cleveland has the 1st pick.
Darnold actually reminds me of Eli a little bit in the sense that he can look brilliant at times and then at other times, he'll look terrible. I can see him being very polarizing the same way Eli has been through his career.
Jackson has the most exciting skillset to me - if he develops more as a passer and can become more accurate, he can be deadly with the right coaching/system.
After seeing what Watson did before he got hurt this year, it's hard not to watch Jackson and feel like he could bring a lot of the same playmaking ability to the table.
It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
I would be willing to bet that at least one guy in this QB class will become a big time NFL star. It's a good class. It could wind up being a lot like 2004 where there are 3 guys who go on to have really great careers.
Goes without saying this will be the most important Giants draft pick in over a decade. Just hope we get it right.
Baker Mayfield may be only 6 feet tall but he has the passion, enthusiasm, sufficient mobility and toughness to be an NFL all -pro QB. He has a certain intangible that comes from inside a player that separates the average player from a great one. He elevates the level of play of the people around him. Most importantly he is not sloppy with the ball, and has the instinctive ability to avoid the pass rush. He is the type of QB that is needed in the NFL today with the speed of the defenses. I love Eli but a QB just like him ( Rosen) has too many limitations in today's game. Darnold needs to stay in school and develop his skills. I like Josh Allen too but he runs too much and does not use the pocket like Mayfield. Mayfield also knows when to run himself and can pick up tough yards on his own. He throws darts with a strong arm into small spaces ( both short and long passes). I don't think you can ask more from a QB. I think that every prospect must be viewed independently and not based upon how many Pro QBs come from his conference. Yes he does remind me of Drew Brees only he is a better version, in my opinion. Of course all final determinations by scouts will be made at the combine. If he has a good combine I would consider him first before taking another QB.
Either. I think Davis Webb looks like a better QB. The one thing I do like about Darnold is that he seems pretty mobile within the pocket and can make plays under pressure. Otherwise I don't think he has great arm talent
But I don't know if all of his game translates to the pro's. Darnold is the next great NFL QB. I hope Darnold pulls an Eli and does to Cleveland what Eli did to San Diego.
You're right,Darnold's mechanics need work. He is inexperienced,he didn't play high school football until late. Was the starting point guard on the basketball team. He has enough mobility to avoid pass rushers and can take off and run . Much more mobile then Rosen who has much better mechanics and a bigger arm. Darnold is more coachable and has a much better winning record.
Anyone who thinks that Darnold is terrible knows nothing about football. He most likely will be selected in the first couple of picks in the upcoming draft so I guess the NFL scouts don't know anything. Darnold could turn out to be a bust but to say he's terrible at the college level is beyond ridiculous.
I dont think Mayfield's height whould be a deciding factor. I've watched Brees and Wilson in the pocket, both do just fine. I'm keen to see the final evaluations and how they play in their bowl games.
Yeah, no way. I prefer maturity at the QB position.
You can coach that. You're not going to get everything in a player too often. You have to ask yourself if that's a fixable problem or not. In my opinion, immaturity can be coached when it's like that.

That line of thinking will get you fired as GM as you'd pass on a guy like Troy Aikmen.
You scout and draft the player, not the conference.
So to defend your position you need to go all the way back to Aikman, who by the way gained his draft status by finishing his career at UCLA. The fact is, and yes this needs to be considered as part of the puzzle, is that the Big 12 plays no defense. Many QB's have put up gaudy stats and then flopped in the NFL. The Big 12 is famous for putting out QBs' like BRandon Wheedon, Colt McCoy, Vince Young, and a slew of Texas Tech "fantasy number generators". You can not get a sense for what a QB can/can not do against that competition.

I’ll pass. Give me Darnold or Rosen.
While the crotch grab was stupid what led to it was a real bad cheapshot by Kansas 2 secs after he threw a pass. On top of that at the coin toss, the Kansas players refused to shake his hand then a Kansas player got squared up with him and started talking shit.
I don't know if there is past bad blood but it was Kansas that initiated it and I don't blame him for getting mouthy with them after that cheapshot

That's his stat line against Ohio State in The Horseshoe this year. What about that competition? They put out some pretty good players.

I don't have to defend my position. Merely point out the inconsistencies in yours.
Discounting players because of the conference they play in is dumb. Whatsmore, the basis you use for discounting a viable Big 12 QB because the conference doesn't play defense, while simultaneously spending the entire season thus far routing Webb as the next coming isn't only dumb, it's borders on sycophantic.
I like Darnold & Rosen.

Eli turned out to be pretty good.

How could he be reasonably sure he'd be their pick?

Darnold will make his decision on whether or not to turn pro based on factors that have nothing to do with who has the first pick.

Last thing this team needs is another asshole like Odell Beckham.

I’d much rather have Darnold or Rosen.

A lot to like. Very poised, stands tall in the pocket, and takes a hit. A real craftsman. And shows similarities to Peyton Manning, but a better arm.
Sam Bradford is actually really good, too. Just way too fragile.

He could do a double crotch grab with Engram also.
