Sadly, the most important game for Giants fans to watch this weekend is at 8PM tonight when Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen take the field in the same game.
actually played against some tough defenses this year, just curious. They seem to sit back their like statues and the older NFL model that is under siege. How is their mobility?

Both are good athletes. Darnold is probably faster than Rosen, but Rosen climbs the pocket well.

I totally get why Mayfield did what he did. Not sure the Giants can take any more of that attitude though.

has had some injuries, but I doubt it's enough to scare any team. Looks at the way he's playing. I doubt his hijinks and comments will matter much either. My guess is that he'll be the #1 pick, but it's obviously a long way until April.
Needs to get a bit bigger though 218 ain't gonna cut it in the NFL. Hope that doesn't throw off his mechanics.
He's only 20 years old. And with Eli still in the fold, Rosen wouldn't have to take over the reins until 2019 or even 2020 (I'd love to see Eli play out the remainder of his current contract, assuming the Giants are playoff contenders). By then Rosen will be 23 and hopefully will have naturally added another 10-15 pounds to his frame to go along with the benefits gained from two years in an NFL weight-lifting program.
But if this game and this season continues as is for Rosen, there is no way he isn't the first pick in the draft, so the Giants will need to lose the rest of their games to have a shot at him. And I expect the Giants to have at least two or three more games in which they actually play up to their abilities and finish 3-13 or 4-12.
Pair him with Billy Price in round two, add a Pugh re-sign and a FA OG, and we might be in the playoffs next year with our future franchise QB on the bench. That would be sweet.

Did you watch it live? I did. He took a late hit early in the 1st quarter and this incident happened at the end of the third. He was on his sideline when the incident occurred, so I’m not sure how much he could actually hear from the other sideline.
The Beckham mention is very relevant. Anyone who is pro Matfield but anti Beckham is a hypocrite.

Very true, but it takes on a bit of a different tone when it is your qb. Just the name of the game.

Ok. But what's that got to do with my point about his mechanics?
Even adding 15 pounds can throw everything out of wack. I'm not saying it will but he's clearly a naturally skinny guy whose durability could come into question from taking punishment from pros.
can be classified as a nationalism in the right light.
I personally am an atheist Jew (don't feel like getting into on a football thread), but ya know how you get all patriotic and root for Team USA? I do that too, but with Jews as well. There's only a handful of successful jewish athletes.
If the Giants can afford someone with the brash personality of Rosen or Mayfield. NY has a history of eating up guys like that. It's one of the reasons I always thought Eli was a perfect NY QB.
I'd go Darnold all day and 2x on Sunday and let him have his developmental 2018 behind ELI.

Not sure I would say Rosen is brash in the same way that Mayfield is.
Judaism can be thought of as being simultaneously a religion, a nationality and a culture.
Throughout the middle ages and into the 20th century, most of the European world agreed that Jews constituted a distinct nation. This concept of nation does not require that a nation have either a territory nor a government, but rather, it identifies, as a nation any distinct group of people with a common language and culture. Only in the 19th century did it become common to assume that each nation should have its own distinct government; this is the political philosophy of nationalism. In fact, Jews had a remarkable degree of self-government until the 19th century. So long as Jews lived in their ghettos, they were allowed to collect their own taxes, run their own courts, and otherwise behave as citizens of a landless and distinctly second-class Jewish nation.
Of course, Judaism is a religion, and it is this religion that forms the central element of the Jewish culture that binds Jews together as a nation. It is the religion that defines foods as being kosher and non-kosher, and this underlies Jewish cuisine. It is the religion that sets the calendar of Jewish feast and fast days, and it is the religion that has preserved the Hebrew language.
Is Judaism an ethnicity? In short, not any more. Although Judaism arose out of a single ethnicity in the Middle East, there have always been conversions into and out of the religion. Thus, there are those who may have been ethnically part of the original group who are no longer part of Judaism, and those of other ethnic groups who have converted into Judaism.
If you are referring to a nation in the sense of race, Judaism is not a nation. People are free to convert into Judaism; once converted, they are considered the same as if they were born Jewish. This is not true for a race.
If the Giants can afford someone with the brash personality of Rosen or Mayfield. NY has a history of eating up guys like that. It's one of the reasons I always thought Eli was a perfect NY QB.

Agreed, if the Giants have the #1 pick I would be surprised if Darnold wasn't the pick.
I tell ya, both look to be the real deal. Rosen reminds me of Matt Ryan, Darnold looks like Andrew Luck. I'd be happy with either, but if I had to choose lean toward Darnold based on his mobility.

I get it. Should a Catholic person want a Catholic QB?
Just a weird thing to root for.
I would like an agnostic QB. That would be ideal!
