Sadly, the most important game for Giants fans to watch this weekend is at 8PM tonight when Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen take the field in the same game.
has better arm talent and pure QB ability in my opinion.
Darnold's mobility is not good enough to make up for that (altohugh he's a pretty good pocket QB as well). He has Mark Sanchez/Ryan Fitzpatrick level mobility, not Prescott/Rodgers type mobility.
With his poise in the pocket, fearless to take hits and always keeping his eyes down the field looking for the open guy. But wth a different arm, his arm is more similar to Rodgers, he is more accurate and hits guys in stride impressively. I want this kid to be eh next Giant QB, if that means we need to trade up a spot or two, I hope they consider it. Kid is the most sure thing among all these college QBs IMO.
Both these guys have potential to be the real deal. I see the argument about Darnold needing another year. Wonder if sitting behind Eli for a year would help.
That being said, these defenses are playing much faster and have more pro potential than some of the B12 joke defenses. Especially USC.
SO Rosen is playing relatively well, while Darnold is slightly behind. Plus, Darnold has better talent around him.
But if anyone thinks any of these guys are plug and play at the next level you're outta your gourd. They're all projects to a point.
Mayfield looks good but I cant help but think hes one of these guys thats a beast in college but sucks in the pros. Its like he could be Brees at the next level or he could be Colt McCoy.
Reminds me of Eli.
Goofy fumbling indeed

Ball control is his issue though.
I like the mobility
Yeah its the combination of the two. Darnold has some polishing he needs to his overall game but hes got the goods.
or a more modern variant Jay Cutler

head first. Good mobility though.

Didn't eli try sliding and on the way down fumble? It was against the Eagles I believe.

I'd rather have the pocket passer
or Eli. what's the fucking difference.
Have you not noticed the QB we have on Sunday's?
I mean, the man did play bowling with the football just last week.
Anyone you actually like?
No one really knows for sure. Just know that and it's fine.

I dont like anything about his game. IMO hes a bust if he comes out.

Id rank them
Rosen
Rudolph
Mayfield
Darnold
Jackson
But thats just my opinion obviously. Rosen looks really good just seems like an injury risk.
Panicky throw. Ugly.

Yes. He also did it two years in a row against the Eagles on Sunday night. 2009 AND 2010
If he's focused and dedicated, puts on 5-10 lbs of muscle, I don't see how he doesn't go #1. Plus I doubt Darnold comes out.

Yep plus Rosen is facing a decent defense while Darnold is facing one of the worst defenses in college football.
Maybe hell stay another year now too?
This UCLA offensive line is really not that good when you watch them. He is clearly playing with inferior talent around him compared to USC.
Darnold does seem to have a bunch of Eli type tendencies out there good and bad. Not sure what to make of this.
Fantastic throw by Darnold.
But QBs have been extremely impressive. These are young men on a national stage playing at an NFL level.
