Not too thick, an inch or an inch1/4 is fine. Lots of whipped cream as it's served.

Briermere Farms pies +3. But it is a shame to eat one

As an after-thought following a heavy Thanksgiving dinner. Wait until you have an appetite. Then you can fully appreciate what you had to stand on line to get. Plus it is really hard to decide which of those beauties you want to buy. The store is out in Gods country, so you really can't go there every week.

Yep. It’s about 30 miles east of me. We try to put in an order every Thanksgiving and pick them up the day before. I almost hate wasting it after a huge dinner. It’s become the best part of the day after when we are putting up the Christmas decorations.
I agree with adamg

Home-made apple pie, if made by someone who really knows how to make apple pies, tops anything else by a huge margin. My father's mother, a long-time farm wife, was the absolute champ.

My runners-up are Kentucky Derby pie, coconut cream pie when loaded with shredded coconut, and good blueberry pie. However, not all blueberry pie is good. I've had some that was pretty piss poor. But I guess I can say that about pretty much any kind of pie except maybe chocolate pudding pie which is almost impossible to screw up.
Pecan Pie.

Have to admit, I've never heard on this one before. Just looked up a recipe, and might have to give it a try this week. I love pecan pie, but hate the 'clear' kind that is made from only sugar & corn syrup.
