“The sense I get is this doesn't need to be a total rebuild, but there are significant personnel issues that went largely unaddressed in the wake of last season's 11-5 finish (including eight wins by seven points or fewer). And while opposing coaches insist the Giants' effort doesn't show up as a problem on tape, there's certainly reason to question whether the right leadership is in place. Even before injuries struck, most notable to star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the Giants were 0-5. They have to re-evaluate everything, because what they're doing isn't working.
Based on those conversations with people around the NFL, mostly conducted on condition of anonymity for competitive reasons, here's a short list of suggestions for how to get the Giants back on track...”

I liked that remark about the edge rushers. I don’t think he’s watched the team all that much
The problem will come if they try to move Flowers to ORT or OG, he's gonna balk at that from both the position and money standpoints. OTOH, I don't know that any team will want to give him OLT money either.
He's the only guy on the OL I think they should try and keep.
They could let him walk, but he could turn into a very good player at a different position -- for either the Giants or someone else.
On defense, these begin with a full-blown rebuild at CB, a continuing need to find a pass-defending Safety who can actually tackle to team with Landon Collins, probably some DT depth, and probably more pass rushing DE depth.
On offense, they are going to need RB help, an effective FB (Smith has yet to prove effectiveness), and effective depth at WR even if they do re-sign Beckham.
And on special teams, they are going to need a return man, a couple of gunners, probably a new punter, possibly a new kicker, and possibly a new long snapper.
This looks more like a total rebuild to me, a task made even more difficult by the fact that they may very well use their first pick next spring on a QB.

Full rebuilds don’t exist in the NFL. Not the way the league works in 2017. Look at the Jaguars, Rams & Saints.
But I don't trust current management to see which are which.
Offense, min of 4 OLmen, RB, #2 WR, and a decision has to be made on what direction we go with QB position.....
In a perfect world, you get replacements for all.....but realistically, you are lucky if you can find half of those guys, and the rest of the positions, you just fill with bodies and hope for the best.....
The big question still is, who is going to make these decisions?
You can fix things quicker that way, but they should probably take Darnold or Rosen. The chance to draft guys like them without giving up the farm don't often.

In addition to the chronic issues on the OL which could be close to a total rebuild, plus a near total rebuild at LB, they have or will have a long list of other needs.

The Jaguars and Rams probably count as full rebuilds since they stockpiled highly drafted players for years.
